Another reason Obama deserves to lose– not reading Reagan & his job non-creation

The reasons Obama deserves not to be re-elected are legion. Sadly he is running against Mitt Romney who offers no real hope for change (change – why does that ring a non liberty bell?) and so America’s worst President since Coolidge will probably get another term. Ongoing illegal wars, continuing suppression of civil liberties via the Patriot Act; a ballooning deficit, crackpot healthcare plans…do I need to go on? But hoisting hopey change by his own petard, we turn to the issue of jobs, or rather the lack of them.

As we all know, Obama has a grandiose 5 year plan to create jobs. So far the only jobs created are for beltway insiders and otherwise unemployable liberal arts graduates. Millions of dollars go on ensuring that there are enough lesbian construction workers out there on state funded programmes. But real jobs which are not taxpayer funded and indeed create wealth? Er… ADP reports that last month there were just 4,000 manufacturing jobs created across the entire USA. In Euroland that might seem like a dramatic success story but for all the hype and money poured into creating Jobs by Obama this is a dismal effort.
If course what Obama forgets is that Government does not create jobs. He could do far worse than check out a few quotes from Ronald Reagan:

Government does not solve problems; it subsidizes them

Government is like a baby. An alimentary canal with a big appetite at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other

Entrepreneurs and their small enterprises are responsible for almost all the economic growth in the United States

Government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.

No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we’ll ever see on this earth!

The most terrifying words in the English language are: I’m from the government and I’m here to help

The point Obama misses again and again is that Government does not create real jobs. But by overtaxing, overborrowing and over-regulating it can destroy them and that is just what Obama has been doing. In that vein we have news today of his latest wheeze.

Speaking to auto workers in Ohio hopey change has announced a new round in the Trade War on China because it “unfairly” taxes US car exports. Heck you would almost think that there was an election on the way and that Obama was out there pandering to special interest voters.

As it happens the Chinese tariffs were introduced in response to earlier US tariffs on Chinese goods but that was not mentioned by hopey. So what if just 3% of Chinese cars were built in the US? That is not unfair it is just life. What Obama fails to mention is that half of General Motors’ cars are sold in China. Do you think that after today that number will go up or down?

Obama’s 5 year plan on jobs, a concept eerily reminiscent of Stalin’s 5 year plans which were equally effective at meeting targets, says that the US will double its exports during that era. Really? Piss off the Chinese ( the 3rd largest export market for the US after Canada and Mexico and its fastest growing export market) and is that more or less likely? It also shows a remarkable ingratitude to a country daft enough to buy grotesquely overvalued US 10 year paper at 10% to fund Obama’s bloated Federal budget.

Obama seems to think that the main reason to vote for him is jobs. Given his track record of preventing the creation of real jobs and the actions he is now taking to destroy jobs, he may be right. Vote Romney. Sorry, he is almost as useless. Move to Canada.
