Please do not get me wrong. Gina Miller is a loathsome creep but I write today in defence of the Queen of the Remoaners.
As a martyr to the cause of Euro-lunacy Gina complains that she is always being attacked. Some of the attacks are fair. She is a patronising Metropolitan elitist who views those of us who voted for independence with undisguised contempt. We did not understand the issues and we are just not as clever as her. She also keeps changing her arguments about what she is seeking to achieve - she talks incoherent nonsense. and she is married to a man with a face like a baboon's arse. All of these are fair criticisms.
But she is also attacked for being both rich and foreign born. these are illegitimate. My late grandmother was foreign born as were my wife's parents. That does not mean that their views counted for any less or more than those of Mrs Miller or indeed you or I. we are all British citizens and we are all equal. that Gina is foreign born is irrelevant.
She is also often described as "rich remoaner" Gina Miller. Again, being rich is not a crime. Nor is being poor. well done to Mrs Miller and the man who has a face like a baboon's arse for being rich. they have worked hard for it. Being rich does not weaken the arguments Miller puts forward. they are nonsensical to start with.
Those who attack Gina for being rich or being foreign born say more about their own prejudices than they do about the remoaning Queen.
