Why send Anjem Choudary to prison - he wants and should be given a one way ticket to Syria

Hate preacher Anjem Choudary will next week get a prison sentence of up to ten years for inciting others to support a proscribed organisation, that is to say Islamic State or ISIS. Surely jail is the last place we should be sending him?

The taxpayer will be stung for £1 million + for accomodating this vile man and he will do his utmost to radicalise other prisoners when inside. He will emerge in a decade to go back to living off benefits and spouting hate as he has been doing for the past twenty years.

ISIS claims it is a state not an organisation. Okay, Choudary supports ISIS and wants to live under strict Sharia law so let's make him a happy man and give him a free one way pass to the ISIS "capital city" of Raqqa. In fact why are the authorities stopping any wannabee jihadists from heading out to Syria? It costs an arm and a leg to monitor them while they are here so just let them all go on the understanding that they would surrender both their passports and their right of return if they "defect" to what they term a foreign "state". Choudary is British but supports what he deems to be another country. Lets help him to that on the ground.

The more jihadists holed up in Raqqa the better as Russia, Iran and President Assad continue their drive towards that City. Would you really care one iota if vast numbers of British born jihadists were eliminated in that offensive? I certainly would not. But, as things stand, as a taxpayer I shall be supporting the loathsome Choudary ad infinitum as he plots to kill me, you and all other law abiding Brits.

What's not to like about my alternative solution?
