Tom Winnifrith podcast share tip

This is a bonus podcast. This tip is a share which I expect to more than double within a year and could be a five or even ten bagger on a three year view. And of course I mean the 27th not 25th.

The rotten flaw at the heart of Aquis – directors can say whatever they want: true or false: Ref Richard Poulden & Valereum

Yesterday I flagged up the laughable interims from the Richard Poulden/David Lenigas/Zak Mir ramp Valereum (VLRM) in which the company claimed that a £6 million overdraft facility was a current asset.  I know that both Poulden and Mir were keen supporters of the bogus cult of Modern Monetary Theory so maybe that is where this all comes from:  rather than printing money, Poulden is printing assets.  I blamed Ms Heena Karani and advisors Peterhouse for allowing this novel, and wholly bogus, new development in accounting to be published. I was wrong and offer my apologies to Ms. Karani and to Peterhouse. Well sort of.

Oxford Nanopore – forget the broker hype – look what the insiders are doing

The IPO of Oxford Nanopore (ONT) was Christmas came early for the brokers involved. Raising £1.87 billion of either new cash or from flogging shares for exiting shareholders at 425p will have generated almost £90 million in commission which, even in these inflationary times, will buy an awful lot of coke and upper class hookers. To support such an exercise there were numerous enthusiastic buy notes.  So with the shares now at 577p should we believe the bullshit buy notes?

OptiBiotix Health – shares nudge ahead on interims, much more to come

Life sciences compounds developer OptiBiotix Health (OPTI) has announced results for the first of calendar 2021, emphasising “sales of LPLDL and SlimBiome of £1.076m, a 44.5% increase over H1:2020… pleasing given the continued uncertain global economic environment and challenges of the subsequent waves of COVID-19, particularly in countries like India and the USA. The shares have currently responded slightly higher, to 50p.

Frontera: More spoofing, more company destroying litigation, no more cash – the Fat lady is warming up

The gyrations in the share price of Frontera Resources (FRR) caused by its latest lie-packed City presentation have forced the company to put out a statement and it makes for truly grim reading. This company is worth 0p per share and in the current climate it may well get there before too long.

IQE and the £630m customer? Crackers valuation metrics - sheer insanity

Two years ago today, IQE (IQE) was trading at 17p per share, valuing the company at c. £120 million. Today the shares are nearly 6x higher at 100p per share, valuing the business at £750 million; an astonishing £630 million increase in value. And yet IQE’s most recent filing (year to 31 Dec 2017), reveals a company where, were it not for one new major customer, the remaining business would have demonstrated declining revenue and profit.

I know a company on AIM where there is insider dealing taking place today - does anyone care?

A company on AIM received a bid approach late last week. I was made an insider on late Friday and have not told a soul or traded a share. So I know it has had a bid, the company and its advisers know and someone else knows too.

African Potash - after the pump comes the dump but how long till the next fund raise?

It was all so predictable. On 6 January African Potash (AFPO) issued an RNS which was both utterly pointless but also just about credible enough to have the Bulletin Board Morons/Zak Mir frothing. The morons ploughed into the aftermarket - not noticing that the RNS was in fact just confirming that part of a deal already announced several months prior had been completed but that no financials were revealed - paying up to 2.1p per share. The crony capitalists said "thank you very much cannon fodder" on the back of the pump and today came the dump... a placing raising gross proceeds of £825,000 at just 1.7p. However...

Stanley Gibbons buys Mallett, you should buy Gibbons

Stanley Gibbons (SGI) has announced a recommended £8.6 million (60p per share) cash offer for Mallett plc (MAE) - one of the oldest established antique dealers in the world, specialising in furniture and works of art and with interests also in restoration. Gibbons sees the move as “furthering its ambition to become a global auction house for collectibles” and considers it “a logical and affordable next step for us to acquire a valuable brand and relevant assets. The Mallett business will expand Stanley Gibbons's expertise into an adjacent collectibles area, drive significant cross-selling opportunities across the combined businesses and build a stronger auction platform in the collectibles marketplace”.

Brian Toye of Toye & Co: Crony Capitalist you have Massive Questions to answer you POS

Brian Toye runs a listed company Toye & Co (TOYE) and has now made a 35p a share offer to buy out his fellow stockholders. The offer is disgracefully low – a 30% discount to the share price and a 70% discount to the last NAV. The manner of the offer also begs a stack of questions as to whether rules have been followed. The NEDs said No. But it will go through unless regulators intervene. This is disgraceful crony capitalism and POS Brian Toye has serious questions to answer.

One shareholder has now contacted Mr Toye, his advisors and the Takeover Panel asking for an investigation. Let’s see what happen. His letter is below. And it will horrify you.

EXCLUSIVE: Rob Terry and the Quindell attempted Directors Share Dumping he and Canaccord didn’t tell you about

Rob Terry of Quindell (QPP) has always been so bullish about his stock urging us all to buy. And he buys shares too – he’d never try to sell would he? Oh yes, I have now seen and email which reveals a very dirty secret indeed. This will shock you to the core. But before we come to the attempted dump let’s deal with the pump.

On March 4th 2014 Quindell PLC used shareholders funds to pay for soft-soap interviewers BRR to record a podcast with Terry in which he was asked a series of very easy questions. So where does Rob think the share price (then in the low 40s) is going? Over to you Rob as he discusses the move to the Main Market from AIM:

Blogging maestro Paul Scott adds to his Globo short – here’s why

5 Star rated (by me) share blogging supremo Paul Scott posted a comment at the foot of my most recent humble offering on Globo (GBO) which is frankly far better than the piece itself. In it he explains why he has added to his short in Globo. I think this merits a wider audience and so republish the comment as an article.

Even a few months ago if Paul or I commented on Globo adversely the Bulletin Board Morons (Globoista Brigade) would have poured on the abuse. But I sense that while die-hards who will remain loyal to the cause to the bitter end remain, their ranks are thinning. And after last week they are thinning fast. This argument is almost won and I would also regard this as a slam dunk short. Enough of me.over to the maestro.  Paul writes:
