Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: As Boris gets Coronavirus the Doomsayers cannot have it both ways

Natch I wish the Prime Minister a speedy recovery from Covid 19. I am sure that like almost all healthy victims he will recover and refer you to my two podcasts HERE and HERE as to why the Doomsayers are engaing in GroupThink but really cannot have it both ways: the virus cannot be both highly contagious and highly lethal. I discuss why the three day shares rally, now reversed today, cannot be justified in terms of the likely curve of corporate earnings recovery. I look at Next (NXT), Optibiotix (OPTI) and dual listings, Dev Clever (DEV) & Royal Mail Group (RMG)

Heroic Peter Tatchell has a handy hint for fighting Coronavirus

As you may know I am a great admirer of the free speech campaigner and pioneer of the gay rights movement Peter Tatchell. But when it comes to fighting the coronavirus I am not sure that his handy tip (below) is one that the Prime Minister will be advocating any time soon.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Naughty naughty Lord Razzall (again), another mini bond blow up and yield, reward and risk

I staert with a few thoughts on Eazster and on the hollow words from our wretched Prime Minister Theresa May on protecting Christians who are under attack. I then have a few more words on lying Mail on Sunday journalist limp dick Jamie Nimmo. Finally with a hat tip to Jamie’s paper for breaking another mini bond scandal, MJS Capital, I discuss shamed Lord Razzall and the idea of what a high yield really tells you on a bond, a share or a house. On this day of gioving please make a donation to Rogue Bloggers for Woodlarks. 90% of those who listen almost every day to this podcast are yet to chip in, please correct that HERE!

Which single act makes me despise Theresa May the most? Asia Bibi’s betrayal must be up there

As every day goes by I find myself despising our wretched Prime Minister Theresa May even more. I apologise to one and all for having voted for her party at the last election. However awful the alternative is, and it is truly ghastly at every level, I shall not be repeating my mistake next time. It would take all day to list the acts or omissions which make me despise her. The complete betrayal of Ulster is a matter close to my black Protestant heart and the even more complete sell out of Gibraltar makes me unspeakably angry.

Video: When one of life's geeks tries to look cool - Theresa May is no Dancing Queen

She is a wretched Prime Minister. Her Brexit plans are a joke but her dancing is off the scale in terms of making one cringe. And thus how to start her speech at the Tory conference today. It may be less embarrassing than her policies but only just. Watch and cringe.

Photo article: Joshua and his dad on a walking tour of the back streets of Kambos

So on Sunday as the Mrs sought a few hours to catch up on her important work, Joshua and I set off exploring with my young son on my back. Part two, the climb to Zarnata castle, I have already recorded HERE. part one was to head off around the back streets of Kambos and the pictures pain a mixed picture as you can see below.

Tim Martin of JD Wetherspoon puts wretched traitor Theresa May straight on Brexit and business

Mrs Theresa May, the worst Prime Minister since the 1800s, understands nothing of business which might explain why she is happy to betray the 17.4 million and her party members by signing up to the worst Brexit deal imaginable. This will see her party obliterated at the next election – bring it on!  Tim Martin of JD Wetherspoon (JDW) does have real world experience and today opines:

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - Fire the useless Mrs May, Luke Johnson for PM

Again Carillion (CLLN) dominates the news and the political class is talking utter tosh with our useless Prime Minister Mrs May leading the way. By way of contrast Luke Johnson is superb in his Sunday Times Column today. Luke for PM before it is too late.

The media & political bubble dwellers lie, smear and dissemble over the DUP Tory deal but do you really care at all?

On June 9th the liberal media warned us that those bigoted DUP types from Ulster would want to roll back LGBT and women's rights in return for propping up pathetic Prime Minister May. We Thatcherites dared to dream that the DUP might demand some proper Tory policies like privatizing the BBC or slashing corporation tax as the price for keeping the wretched Conservatives in power. What nonsense. Ulster politics is all about posture and pork barrel and the latter is the more powerful of the two.

Thus the DUP will prop up the May creature in return for an additional £1 billion being poured into the Ulster pork trough during the next two years. The DUP are, it turns out, utterly unprincipled wastrels just like all the other folks at Westminster.

The predictable faux outrage and hypocrisy from the virtua signalling liberal establishment. was loud and

The Death of Diana & #GrenfellTower - the same "popular anger", appropriated grief, media persecution and rewriting of history

As the Queen wandered among the victims of the Grenfell Tower tragedy yesterday I could not help wonder at what a really very good human being she is. I write as a diehard republican but I cannot help but but admire Elizabeth Windsor. And everyone else seems to do so too. My mind then went back a couple of decades to the death of Diana, Princess of Wales. How differently the Queen was viewed - for a few days at least - back then but how the mood was so similar.

Nice: a reminder of the lies of two former Prime Ministers that shame Blair and Cameron

As the bodies are prepared for burial the war of words as to who is to blame for the outrage in Nice is underway. Fresh from calling for a ban on guns in America after Dallas, the liberals are now calling for a ban on lorries in Europe. Okay they are not. No-one ever accused the liberal left of being consistent in its prejudices or thought processes. But if you wander around the Internet you can see more or less everyone gets blamed somewhere.

At this point I'd just remind you of the words of two former Prime Minsters and I start with the war criminal Tony Blair.

The Coronation of Theresa May, the media pundits and the disgusted plebs

There is much commentary in the USA about the revulsion that so many folks feel for the three intertwined pillars of the status quo of the establishment: the political class, the big businessmen who fund/buy that class and the media pundits who take the political/business spin without question. I would perhaps add a fourth pillar, the banksters, but perhaps they are rolled into business fat cats. The massive distrust and resentment of these people seems to be evident across the West. That Americans may well vote for Donald Trump who is, shall we say, not exactly the new Abraham Lincoln, is a sign of this, Brexit was another as is the rise of the frightful Marine Le Pen in France.

And so we come to the coronation of Theresa May

What were Lady Thatcher’s greatest failings?

Reflecting on the UCL Libertarian dinner at Real Man Pizza last Thursday and on a chat with its guest speaker my mind turns back to Lady Thatcher and wondering what were her greatest failings as Prime Minister.  Thinking off the top of my head my top seven would be:

1. A failure to reform the world’s third largest employer, the NHS so that it cared for patients in a cost effective manner rather than looked after over-paid and unaccountable staff

2. A failure to privatise the BBC
