In today’s podcast, I look at: Vast Resources (VAST) and the bogus bear squeeze; Eurasia Mining (EUA); Powerhouse Energy (PHE); Kinovo (KINO) and the fallout from my scoop yesterday, which is now confirmed; Made.com (MADE); and why Petropavlovsk (POG) is a zero. Also, do grab a (free) ticket to UK Investor on Saturday; tomorrow, I shall give the question you must ask one of the presenters. The Rogue Bloggers for Woodlarks have now raised 21% of their target. Dan Levi reckons that I was being beastly about Dev Clever PLC to sell it a stand at the UK Investor show. He says so without listening to what I actually said. Maybe I am also trying to flog stands to Telit, Accesso and Westminster Group? Oi fatso Baldry if I mention the 3DM fraud again will you take a stand at a show I don't actually own. Whatever... In this podcast I also cover Telit (TCM), Blue Rock Diamonds (BRD), Jim Mellon's SalvaRX (SALV), Accesso (ACSO) and Windar Photonics (WPHO). It is silliness like this that make me want to call it a day sooner rather than later.

I explain why Old man Stacey really has lost the plot on Brexit, he needs to look at what is happening in China and that will make him truly fearful. I look at Tesla (TSLA) and UK Oil & Gas (UKOG).

As I am sure you know, The Global Group UK Investor Show is THE investor show of the year. More than 3000 delegates will gather in Westminster on March 30th 2019 to meet 130 growth company CEOs and for a unique once a year chance to hear speakers such as Nigel Wray, Vin Murria, Mark Slater, Nick Leslau, Peter Hambro, Kate Andrews, Luke Johnson, Dominic Frisby, Tim Steer, Neil Ricketts, Paul Jourdan, myself, Matt Earl and Graham Neary.

In light of Cynical's piece earlier this week I discuss what happens next to Neil Woodford and his funds and it is not good. Of course some of us - not the useless FT - predicted it all a long while back as you can see in this excellent video from UK Investor show 2018 here

The Global Group UK Investor Show is the country’s largest – and certainly most exciting – one day event for those who want to make more money from shares. It is still nearly six months away but already more than two thirds of the 135 exhibitor PLC stands have been reserved. We have an almost complete all-star speaker line-up, headed by Luke Johnson, Vin Murria, Mark Slater & Nigel Wray, so it is an event not to be missed.

We ended the first Uk Investor Show City event with a conversation between myself and Nigel Wray covering a long time fave he has sold, a new AIM company he is backing, Brexit and much else. We also took questions from the audience.

Maybe you cannot wait for the UK Investor Show 2019 on March 30? Well if that is the case here is a bonus preview event for you all, the first UK Investor City evening with Nigel Wray. Nigel will be joined in conversation by Tom Winnifrith - that is me - and there will be four truly disruptive companies presenting including Cambridge Cognition and Optibiotix.
The event is taking place in Central London and includes drinks and canapes from 6 PM on Monday 9th July. There will be a chance to chat to all the speakers in an informal session, with more drinks and canapes, after the event.

I defy anyone who spoke to the Falanx (FLX) team at the show not to have come away a bull. I did and thus bought more shares post show. At 5.2p offer the shares are really very cheap IMHO. If you doubt here is chairman Mike Read to say more.

If I say so myself, I called this brilliantly as a sell then as a buy then as a take profits. But where does Highland Natural Resources (HNR) stand now? I chatted briefly to the team at the show and they were brimming with confidence but for more detail over to Robert Price.

This is, of course, a big fave of Nigel Wray and he has done exceptionally well from Alliance Pharma (APH). It has also been a good share tip (twice) from myself and young Steve on the Nifty Fifty. The main man is John Dawson and he can explain the story going forward.

We still have some warrants in Amryt (AMYT) and I know this is a big year both in terms of clinical trials and also sales ramp up but I admit that I am a bit off the pace on exactly what is going on. So over to someone who is bang up to speed.

I rather like Mr Allaun although as you know I am not heavily into this green malarky but the world is and thus I see the merit in the shares. Anyhow Keith can explain the Powerhouse Energy (PHE) story better than a climate change denier like myself so over to him.

I chatted to Steve before the show and at it. This is my biggest single holding, I bought more after the show and at a 71p offer shares in Optibiotix (OPTI) are IMHO still very cheap. At a personal level I have always had a lot of time for Christian Schaffalitzky but am off the pace on news from Eurasia Mining (EUA) although staring at the world map on the wall in Joshua's room just above the nappy changing mat I finally worked out yesterday, as I changed an absolutely disgusting nappy, where it is that Eurasia operates. This session had to be cut short as the previous speaker Ed Croft allocated himseelf an extra five minutes for his talk. Heck Mr Wray is your host, cut his talk in half so you can yak on a bit more. Paul Scott had too much to drink the night before and thus failed to appear for this mid morning session on value investing at UK Investor Show. At one minute's notice I stepped into his shoes with Paul promising the organisers that he would arrive within ten minutes. He did not turn up at all. Though I over-ran by about five minutes as I adjusted & winged it using as a basis a pretty piss poor agenda Paul had set the session still worked very well I thought, a testimony to the expertise of Nigel Wray and Paul Jourdan of Amati.

Some investor shows have all women panels in a rather patronising tokenistic manner. Our main stage speakers are there on merit and merit alone. This year there were three women on the main stage, including the show owner Lucy Wray. But the star, as ever, was the Queen of tech Vin Murria. She would hit me if I suggested she was there as part of a quota, she is the ultimate meritocrat and she is forthright in her views. For me this was the session of the show but is for paying subscribers only.

In this podcast I look back at a very valid point made by Dr Hon at UK Investor on a cancer still at the heart of the City. I look at AIQ (AIQ), San Leon (SLE) and Paragon Entertainment (PEL) - another Finncap debacle. Then I turn to Ed Croft and UK Investor who was rude to me ( who cares) as he over-ran his allotted time and pretended otherwise by slating me. He also called Nigel Wray a sucker for his investments. Ed: how rich are you? How many AIM stocks have you backed in a major way where you could have m,ade 100* your money? But I am sure you are right and Wray is a sucker. And then Ed presented data which though accurate allowed him to leap to a totally wrong conclusion. If I was scoring his thesis I explain why I'd have to give it a fail. Or as that is now on campuses today a 2:1. Unlike Ed I did not insult someone else on the main stage on their big day as that would have been rude but his nonsense needs correcting.

Do not worry it is not all macro babble in today's podcast but I reflect on why Sterling is roofing it and why this also makes the Paul Scott thesis on retailers and consumer facing stocks wrong - more of that on Saturday no doubt! I look at Amur Minerals (AMC) with the 1 question its dumb shareholders need to ask. I intrude on the private grief at Somerville towers regarding Scancell (SCLP) and suggest that there is more to come for poor Nigel. And I look at perennial dog Iofina and what it is NOT saying. Cornish Estate Agent Chris Wood has exposed numerous of the sharpish practices employed by Purplebricks (PURP) on his own blog and we have republished his incredibly detailed analysis HERE. For his troubles Purplebricks has on several occasions sent him stiff lawyers letters in an attempt to gag him. Now he will blow the lid on much more as our final speaker at UK INvestor Show on Saturday.

This is the most polite i shall ever be. Okay the mother-in-law is out and my father in law has hearing issues but still its a no swearing podcast in which I discuss FairFx (FFX), Vin Murria, the Uk Investor Show and a new major headache for Purplebricks ( PURP) and the wider issue of revenue visibility. I also note events in Syria which I cover in more detail HERE. If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Version 2. Darren cut off 6 minutes of the podcast first time around. I am a nice guy. I will not fire him...until Monday. After many years I have upgraded from a Nokia brick to a sort of smart phone but I cannot work out how to answer calls or indeed shut it off or put it on silent. So in this podcast it very much plays the shepherd of Porlock. In the podcast itself I discuss my domestic arrangements ahead of the return of the Mrs and a weekend with the mother-in-law ( some of us have all the luck) then look at TrakM8 (TRAK), RM2 (RM2), Online Blockchain (OBC) and reminisce about Sefton (SER) and Jimmyliar Ellerton, prompted by a long chat with Brokerman Dan last night. In detail I look at Fishing Republic (FISH) which looks, to me, an increasingly sick puppy. After last week's twitter spat we have made up and are friends again so Paul Scott will, after all, be recording a bearcast special with me at UK Investor Show. If you have not booked a free investor class seat for 21 April do so now at www.ukinvestorshow.com/tickets using the promotional code WINNIFRITH. In today's bearcast I look at a moron and Marechale (MAC), at FlowGroup (FLOW), MySquar (MYSQ), Hvivo (HVO), Strat Aero (AERO), Omega Diagnostics (ODX) and those two awful words "strategic review" and at Air Partner (AIR). Over on my personal website there is a podcast setting a few folks straight on Lady Thatcher - HERE.

Bad language alert. No I am not referring to Mrs Stacey. I would not dare but to Feedback (FDBK) which has done a placing today but another one is needed soon. I look at Mosman (MSMN) which has had terrible results and imagine the conversations round at SP Angel as poor Zac Phillips is forced to pen another buy note on this POS. I look at results from UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), the RedX (REDX) disaster, RM2 (RM2) and Conviviality (CVR). I really enjoyed today's podcast and - conceitedly - think it is rather a good one. The Mrs thinks her dad was born in Chennai. I explain the relevance of this as I discuss Mercantile Ports & Logistics (MPL) and more evidence that has fallen into my hands suggesting that it is doomed. Elsewhere I look at Purplebricks (PURP), Angle (AGL) and the corruption of Fleet Street, Brokerman Dan again showing that he did not train as a journalist but as er..something else as he looks at Big Dish a stock where I have no knowledge or financial interest I also look at the disgraceful news today from Nick "not for the many but the" Trew at Pathfinder Minerals (PFP) and at ITM Power (ITM). In today's podcast I look at why some folks really don't get it. If I want to stop risking my capital and working ball-breakingly long weeks and retire that is not selfish as one poster suggested when I said why I was planning on doing just that HERE. I look at market falls and why I expect more and at UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) and where the shares go now. What does David Lenigas say & what will happen? Finally House of Fraser is joining retailageddon. If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Two days, two bull articles on IQE (IQE). It has worked and I have been goaded here is is why Malcolm Stacey is talking bollocks. I also reference the fraud Eden Research (EDEN) in this discussion on profit being a matter of opinion and that is why cash matters. I discuss why being a liar is bad news as a CEO ref Mkango Resources (MKA) then tease Andrew Monk and Richard Jennings about Gulfsands Petroleum (GPX) - their oil analysis as bad as their Syria analysis on this occasion. Then it is onto Flybe (FLYB) and a detailed discussion of the looming cash crisis and joke valuation at Sound Energy (SOU). I suggest SalvaRx (SALV) run by my good friend Jim Mellon faces a bit of a cash issue. Then I explain why I have cut my UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) target price to just 0.25p making it, at 1.125p, still a slam dunk sell. It is one month exactly to UK Investor Show. Book your seats today! In today's podcast I comment on retail generally but also on any company that says that it is talking to its banks and that they are "supportive." I look in detail at yesterday's results from Eden Research (EDEN). Would you Adam & Eve it? There's lots of snakes in that garden. I look at the request for an EGM of Pathfinder Minerals (PFP) to out useless Nick Trew and NED Toff Tory Sir Henry Bellingham MP of 3DM infamy. Sir Henry I have a score to settle and I have a warning for you about what I plan. Okay the most frequent poster in our comments section is a nutso commie but hat tip to Wildes for a phrase he taught me today. In the bearcast I discuss how to make real bread ( my next career?), Accrol (ACRL), Micro Focus (MCRO), Inspirit (INSP), Conviviality (CVR), Mothercare (MTC), Online Blockchain (OBC) and have a prize contest on TechFinancials (TECH) - can anyone explain this bollocks to me. The prize will be awarded at UK Investor on April 21 where the highlight of the day will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Today's related party deal is the final straw and I have to use a C word when it comes to Gary Ashworth & Interquest (ITQ). I also look at Forbidden Technologies (FBT) which - whatever the directors say - needs a placing. I discuss PZ Cussons (PZC), Vernalis (VER) and Paul Scott's woes at Conviviality (CVR) - Scotty that is the danger of reading broker notes you should speak to the company instead. Nudge Nudge, know what I mean. I gather from Andrew Monk that ShareProphets is banned in China - what could they possibly not like about this website? I give my views on China and also on the way that poor BMD has been robbed today. News of a shock resignation just days before he faces rows of empty seats sees me enjoy a cup of Schadenfreude at the expense of my old friend Jim Mellon. I look at Andalas Energy (ADL), asking it to comment on new reports of internal woes. I look at Eqtec (EQT) and MySquar (MYSQ) and also at Alumasc (ALU) and Sportech (SPO). Even though the event is still almost 7 weeks away on April 21, the Global Group UK Investor Show is now more than two thirds booked out - A highlight of the show is the tale of the two fund managers below: Mark Slater & Neil Woodford. Slater is the UK's most successful fund manager of the past decade. He will give the final speech of the day explaining where he sees the market, what shares he is buying, what he is selling and why. If there is a man to follow it is Mark. Neil Woodford is perhaps the country's highest profile fund manager and makes millions for himself.

I say in the bearcast that it is the 20th. Apologies. Alzheimer's again. I know it is the 25th. The P in MV=PT is inflation and unless you have been buying into asset bubbles over the past few years you may not have noticed how huge it has been. But now it is working its way into the real mainstream economy and that will impact corporate earnings and also base rates. How exposed are you? Oddly enough Britain's most conceited fund manager Neil Woodford has yet to agree to appear at UK Investor Show to answer some simple questions from me. What is he frightened of? I will have to go ahead with the session without him but I hope that he does not bleat on about how he had no right of reply! Anyhow, I discuss my futurology piece of yesterday and how it should be viewed if you are, like Nomates Neil, a big holder of auto related stocks. I cover BCA Marketplace (BCA), The AA (AA.) and Northgate (NTG) in this section. I also look, en passant, at another Woodford dog RM2 (RM2). Then I cover Milestone (TOAST) and finally pick up on the most excellent post on the comments section of this site by Drunken Sailor on POS Andalas (ADL)

I have been thinking long and hard about this all summer but there is no alternative as the great Lady Thatcher used to say. Evil Google provides no content but sucks all of the ad revenue from online media. Our advertising revenue has collapsed so ShareProphets must either accept the custom of utter dirtbags like Darren Winters, continue to be subsidised by the UK Investor Show or fold. Or it must charge for access. I believe that asking you to pay £6 a month for 300 articles and for utterly unique content is something you will agree to and so on Thursday it is pay to play. I explain why evil Google is forcing our hand and what will happen and what the choices are in, perhaps the most important bearcast in our history.

VSA is house broker to Obtala (OBT) so is not impartial. Neither am I as we own a small number of shares following a Dragon's Den pitch as the 2017 UK Investor Show. But the price target suggests real upside and VSA's research team is well regarded and since we happily published an uber-negative piece from Evil Banksta the other day, this offers some balance. VSA has tweaked its forecasts

First up I must congratulate Paul Scott for sticking with and, I think averaging down, on Revolution Bars (RBG) which earlier this week received a tentative 200p share offer. Paul was right and I was wrong. It happens. I guess my, almost teetotal existence and his extensive field work gave him the edge. Only kidding - it was a great call by Paul and one orf the reasons why he is such a great share blogger. I am sure his session with Nigel Wray at UK Investor 2018 (as well as his live bearcast with me) will justify attendance on its own. But just as a reminder we do not get it all right, here is a classic Scott twitter outburst, regarding Fairpoint (FRP) which said that it would be calling in administrators today.

I really do not understand this type 2 diabetes. There was I celebrating several days within a normal range of 5-7 and I woke up in the sevens. That was bad enough to prompt me into leading a very blameless day with a normal breakfast of a bit of bacon and eggs and a very modest lunch of fried zucchini. I then worked up a great sweat with hard manual labour chopping frigana at the Greek Hovel. And thus by eight PM, pre-swim my blood sugar reading had plunged to ...WTF?

This is our fifteenth show and, I think, that this is the 6th that the Pizza Hardman Darren Atwater has been involved in. You might hate bear raiders. You might think that short selling is unethical. But what you cannot argue with is that ignoring men such as Evil Knievil when they sniff out a fraud or accounting malpractice will cost you a packet. At last year's UK Investor Show the Country's top bears did a detailed presention on AIM darling Avanti Communications, one of the AIM companies most beloved by professional fund managers. Since that warning Avanti shares have collapsed by more than 90%. This year the bears have new targets.

Next week may be disrupted by events in Warwick as I discuss at the end of this podcast but I shall be at UK Investor Show come what may and really hope you join me and 3,000 others there - book now for tickets to be sent on Monday HERE. In this podcast I look at Management Resource Solutions (MRS), why its RNS statements just do not add up at all and why I hope for bankruptcy. I also look at the latest news from FastForward (FFWD) which - if you do a bit of digging is a 100% rum and coke. Finally five years after certain folks turned down cash offers for Rivington assets preferring to asset strip them I bring you photos of a Master Investor show hall promising 5,000 attendees but in fact almost empty. Photo one show c500 folks in the main hall, the stands at the same time are almost empty! Ouzo time for me, a cup of cold sick for the asset strippers. It is hard to resist the temptation to gloat and indeed I found it just too hard. It is ouzo O'clock.

Normally Nigel Wray turns up at UK Investor, talks and leaves. This year - our 15th anniversary party - is different. He will be there from start to finish and when not on stage that opens up a unique opportunity for those attending on April 1. For more than 40 years, Nigel , the man dubbed Britain's Buffett, has been a stockmarket legend for his ability to generate stellar returns not by wild gambling on mining punts or biotech start ups but by rigid value investing. Like the Original Buffett, the Sage of Omaha, Wray is a bottom up value investor who buys and holds. Would you like to know what he thinks is the cheapest share in London? Would you like a one to one chat with Nigel?

I look at Glenwick (GWIK), now booted off AIM, which stinks. And I look at the idea of investing in shite companies to make money, ref Red Leopard (RLH) and Cynical Bear. We picked up some of these shares at the Dragon's Den pitch at the UK Investor Show. We sold this morning at a loss and in disgust at 91p. Convicted felon Aidan Earley who is banned from being a company director last week fessed up to intimate involvement in Worthington (WRN), the fraud now being run by an administrator. So what makes Aidan tick. Watch him in action at a UK Investor show and judge for yourself...

Oh dear, this is the end for you my friend....Avanti Communications (AVN) has announced a "strategic review". In other words it has admitted that it s well and truly fecked. Shareholders should, whatever the weasel words of the RNS, prepare for wipeout. This is - as we pointed out in a 25 minute presentation at UK Investor Show, a zero. The statement is typical King of the Bombast David Williams horseshit.

Yesterday Avanti Communications (AVN) issued a dire lack of profits warning. Having warned folks in a special 25 minute session at UK INvestor (HERE) that this one was heading for the knacker's yard, the bear community is vindicated. Our big call is looking good. But have you seen how the existing debt ( in which Avantis drowning) responded. It says the shares - down 60% to 24p yesterday - are near as damn it toast. The target here is 0p or very close to that.

This was recorded before the summer truce and so that really is it from me on Big Dave. He can site on his luxury yacht checking out the birds in Monaco, I shall sit in my Greek Hovel, clocking the snakes and rats and not having to meet another human all day. I think we can safely say that neither of us would want to swap! I hope we both have a relaxing and stress free summer. Anyhow here's the video from the show. Enjoy.

This was meant to be just a fun debate to start the day with a few laughs. Girly swat Chris Bailey took it really seriously but other competitors myself, Malcolm Stacey, Colin Bird, Dominic Frisby were more relaxed. Speaking for gold Andrew Bell was so relaxed he forgot to turn up but Jan Nelson stood in at the last minute. I explain what a balloon debate is in the video. Enjoy.

I cant remember if I said anything of any interest whatsoever in this short introduction so this is possibly the most boring video of all from UK Investor Show. But, as in that 2014 classic from the UK's most talented chanteuse and original creative mind, "I don't care".

As you know disgraced broker WH Ireland (WHI) used fascist bully boy lawyers to stop the penioners it mugged ( the Bagots) and Nigel Somerville from exposing the AIM listed firm at UK Investor. Earlier this week I ran an article which David Lenigas responded to by accusing me of getting my facts wrong and thus been a pathetic sad person and poor journalist. It is at least better than tweeting about my mother's suicide 40 years ago. I demonstrated HERE that Lenigas was 100% wrong, my facts were 100% right and that he was a smearing, liar, happy once again to mislead his investors. Tomorrow at UK Investor Show I shall demonstrate he is much much worse. Lenigas has responded to his impending downfall with a new tweet.

This weekend is all about the London Marathon but in just SIX DAYS time a galaxy of legendary investors will be speaking at UK Investor Show. This is not a platform for share rampers based in dodgy offshore tax havens but a chance to hear men and woman who are simply the best. Make sure you have the date in your diary - Saturday April 30 and this is the LAST CHANCE to grab a complimentary ticket.
Some shows back the share rampers and the City big boys. We dont. We stand alongside private investors. In that vein we have a new speaker to announce today: Mr Bagot, the 80 year old pensioner mugged by City broker WH Ireland but who fought back. He will be joined on the main stage by Nigel Somerville to show what went on and how the City can be tackled.
All the star writers from ShareProphets will be there and we still have a few complimentary tickets to meet them at the QE2 Centre in Westminster on April 30th and to hear in action a star studded line up including Ed Croft, Mark Slater, Evil Knievil, Nigel Wray, Adam Reynolds, Dominic Frisby, Vin Murria & Amanda Van Dyke.
To get one of these last few seats going simply go to www.UKInvestorshow.com and enter the word FINAL in the box marked promotional code

By email and by twitter last night David Lenigas sank to new depths in an attempt to bully me into not speaking out at UK Investor Show on April 30 explaining why the fat Aussie share ramper has no place on AIM. In this part of the bearcast I go through all the frauds admitted to by Quindell today, the bungs, the lies, the non disclosures, the revenue recognition issues, the panama pumps. Most of this has been revealed on this website already but today Quindell fessed up. What we said abut Himex, TMC, Stretton Knowles, the fraudster Rob Terry...it was all true. And that means that Rob Terry WILL go to prison for this. And so will others.
Part two of this podcast - what happens now to shares in Quindell and Slater & Gordon is HERE

You have to end on a high and so that is it for a while from me. Full stop. Unless Rob Terry is arrested (whch will happen at some stage), I am not filing here any more. Because it does not get much better than today. Quindell has just released its 2014 results and I am 100% vindicted now. And so there is a two part Bearcast. I suggest that UK Investor Show Magazine which came out this weekend now looks visionary on this fraud. You can read it here

You may well remember the dirty tricks camoaign that Sefton Resources (SER) under Jimmyliar Ellerton waged against myself and Dan Levi when we exposed his lies and fraud. One smear was to plant a suggestion/lie with a "friendly journalist" - or scab as I would call her - in the Daily Telegraph suggesting that Dan was short of the stock. The old dirty tricks are revealed in full in Sefton the True Story video from UK Investor HERE

Did any of the folks at UK Investor Show 2015 get my little joke on that matter with our introductory music?
Anyhow, we are now preparing to announce the arrival of the real Princess Leia at the rebel base in Clerkenwell - our first Leia was just a trick to fool The Emperor - as we work to eliminate the last remnants dark side of the force forever, today is officially World Star Wars Day. First the Bulletin Board jihadists tried to silence myself and this website with death threats. That failed. Then they tried to get ADVFN to stop working in partnership with us. That failed. Then there was an attempt to put our restaurant out of business with bogus reviews. That failed. Then they tried to bully speakers to pull out of UK Investor Show. That failed. And so now the jihadists are trying to persuade companies to stop advertising with us. And some PLCs are caving.

I start on the matter of free speech and attempts by the Jihadists of the QPPSAG to deny that. We won a big victory over the morons yesterday. In that vein I urge those who enjoy Bearcasts and who support free speech to book their seats for UK Investor Show on April 18 in Westminster now HERE. In the podcast I cover Mosman Oil & Gas, Rambler Metals, Red Leopard, Management Resources and then go in big time on Asian Citrus but more especially on Camkids - target price 0p.

I am in full flow today! I start with Kevin Ashton and why you should all buy a ticket for UK INvestor Show on April 18 NOW (HERE) and give thus guy a standing ovation. He is a total 100% hero. I then move onto Gowin New, and then to Mosman en passant (more detail HERE) and then to Bagir ( what i a "good" company, hint - not bagir, and why), Sopheon, TXO and Golden Saint Resources. There is a bit of a discussion about the lack of AIM Regulation and ZAI Corporate Finance.

In today's podcast I look at Afren and the next Afren (Igas) and also at Tern and a zillion reasons to sell its shares. I have some pressing questions for Nyota Minerals and look at Quindell and comment on the great news about Kevin Ashton and the UK Investor Show. And I chat about Ocean Wilsons, Mark Slater and the perils of small cap investing.

Kevin Ashton was the analyst at Canaccord tasked with covering Quindell. When he handed in a note refusing to say buy or set a price target Rob Terry told Canaccord it would be fired as joint broker if it published it. So Ashston was fired. He is a feared analyst with a forensic mind and great integrity and he will now be speaking at the UK Investor show on April 18.

Once again it is that week when Darren Atwater and I both turn one year older. Last Monday the pizza hardman turned 47. I stop being 46 this Monday coming up and as it is the start of the year you naturally think about what you have achieved and what you want to achieve.
We are getting older. Perhaps as importantly our parents are getting pretty old now – Darren’s in Canada, mine in Shipston. As they all head towards eighty you have certain thoughts. I guess both Darren and I are also contemplating that we are closer to retirement age than to the start of our careers. In his quiet way he still has a bit more hunger than I do to achieve and conquer. I think I’m well past that now.
Professionally we can look back two years with some satisfaction. We have

ShareProphets Press' first book of 2015 is by Tom Winnifrith, The Man who exposed the fraud at Quindell. In it, Winnifrith demonstrates the forensic accounting techniques that he uses to expose the secrets that companies are trying to hide. No investor should be without it. The first 100 people to receive the book will be offered a free ticket to the 2015 UK Investor Show on April 18. Don't delay - this will go fast.

Quindell is unravelling at a rate of knots. Once the biggest stock on AIM probably will not exist by the time of UK Investor on April 18 2015. And the man who exposed the lies and fraud was Tom Winnifrith. For his efforts he received bullying lawyers letters from Quindell and death threats from its shareholders. And that has spurred a special new session at UK Investor 2015.
Already Tom was down to do a session with Dan Levi (Brokerman Dan) in a 250 seater room on the true story of Sefton and how they unmasked that fraud. That session is still going ahead.
But now, with a special STAR guest to be announced soon – Tom will take to the main stage to discuss Quindell, Death Threats, dealing with Corporate bullies and how you seek out Red Flags. He will illustrate this point with previously unseen material to be revealed only at UK Investor Show.
If you book your seats for UK Investor Show you can get a 25% discount on your seat simply by entering the promotional code SP25 at www.UKInvestorShow.com

As the leaves start to turn brown you may not be thinking about next April but we are as we plan the biggest and best UK Investor Show ever. The speaker line-up gets more impressive by the day and already 90 of the 110 Growth companies attending have booked in – and I am delighted that there are a raft of new PLCs attending, and almost as delighted that some of those who attend every show are NOT attending!
So some things stay the same. I shall be there but will be doing different sessions in smaller rooms – such as the Sefton story with Dan Levi – and a PLC fraud session with a special guest. Nigel Wray, Mark Slater, Evil and Lucian Miers are back as are Vin Murria and Ben Edelman. But we are mixing up the speakers with new names such as Jason Drummond and Cassandra Harris on tech and Luke Johnson is also on board as well.
In terms of companies, you can see many of the big names at www.UKInvestorshow.com

One of the highlights of my 2013 was Malcolm Stacey’s departure from the Evil Empire and arrival here at ShareProphets and a great memory of 2014 was the day we spent together around the time of the UK Investor Show. Malcolm really is one of the nicest and most decent guys in the world of shares. But what he has written today I fundamentally disagree with – as Malcolm well knows!

This is my penultimate video postcard from Greece until I return November for the olive harvest. Forgive my lack of writing, I have been busy preparing for UK Investor Show on April 18 2015 and also obsessing about snakes and frigana.
I discuss both snakes and frigana in great detail.
I then go on to say why I disagree with Paddy Leigh Fermor and have fallen in love with Kambos, the village nearest to the Greek Hovel.
Details of the show are at www.UKInvestorShow.com – book your seat now!

Jim Slater, father of UK Investor Show speaker Mark, is the controversial fellow who created the PEG (Price Earnings Growth) method of investment analysis. Using PEG analysis e has today served up two AIM listed stocks he reckons as buys in today’s Daily Telegraph. One of the, as it happens, is a stock Steve Moore and I have tipped on our Nifty Fifty website.
In the article today Slater outlines his investing criteria today. He is a shrewd old cookie and I am not arguing. Slater lists his check list as follows:

When I record my videos each week you are meant to email me to say “Tom you have lost weight – well done!” I should not have to prompt anyone (especially the Mrs). But I have lost weight. Well I can’t measure it since, as I noted two years ago, there are virtually no scales in the whole of Greece but I can do the trouser test!
At my shameful 19 stone 6 pounds peak my waist was a disgraceful 44 inches. At my fighting weight (hooker for London Irish Wild Geese) I was a 32 inch waist. Two years ago in Greece I almost got down to 32 inches. I was within spitting distance.
Back in the UK – and blaming the Mrs for leading me astray - my waist expanded again. On leaving I was in 36 inch jeans and they felt tight. Within a few days my Ireland rugby shorts (from a post London Irish age) were so obviously falling down that they had to be retired. But they do not really count – they come from a plump (Clontarf veterans) era.
However, as their replacement – red swimming shorts - went from tight to comfortably loose I tried the trouser test.

Angus Forrest of Tern (TERN) has asked that we publish in full a letter in which he laments the piss poor journalism of Tom Winnifrith and Nigel Somerville. We are delighted to publish Mr. Forrest’s letter since we believe it incriminates him even more in scandal. Our response will follow within thirty minutes. Forrest writes:
Dear Sirs,
Many unfounded allegations have been made against me and my colleagues concerning our time at Digital Learning Marketplace (DLM).
These allegations have been made at the UK Investor Show and on the Share Prophets’ website by Nigel Somerville and Tom Winnifrith

We are pleased that Angus Forrest has given his side of the story with regard to what went on at DLM in 2012 - HERE. Whilst we believe his explanations fall short of satisfactory, at least he has taken the time and trouble to respond to some of the questions raised but we still call for the noose. Answering his points in turn…
Many unfounded allegations have been made against me and my colleagues concerning our time at Digital Learning Marketplace (DLM).
These allegations have been made at the Investor Show and on the Share Prophets’ website by Nigel Somerville and Tom Winnifrith
I wish to clarify to the readers of Share Prophets that at no time did Mr Somerville or Mr Winnifrith contact or meet me to corroborate any of the allegations made against me or anyone else that has been accused of “malfeasance” across some 15 separate articles. As a result I would like to take this opportunity to publicly respond to as many allegations as I can detect from the various disjointed articles published on Share Prophets.
They are not unfounded. Much of what has been said is based on announcements and documents for which Mr Forrest was himself directly responsible. We note that certain allegations including the misleading CV Mr Forrest posted on the Shareholder Circular which saw him elected to the board of Tern (TERN) are not addressed. Why not? Because no amount of sophistry can hide the fact that Mr Forrest misled.

You may not like short sellers but the bear raider panel at the UK Investor Show 2014 called things right on a range of stocks from blinkx (BLNX), to Globo (GBO), to Quindell (QPP) as you can see in the video below. Evil Knievil, Lucian Miers and Matt Earl (The Dark Destroyer) have all promised to return for another main stage masterclass at UK Investor Show 2015 on April 18.
The 2015 show will also feature Nigel Wray, Paul Scott, Ed Croft, Mark Slater, Ben Edelman, Amanda Van Dyke, Dominic Frisby, and Vin Murria – in fact 50 big name speakers. Tickets are now on sale at £60 (Golden Ticket) and £12 (Investor ticket).

Ed Croft of Stockopedia is the latest big name to sign up to speak at the UK's leading one day investor show, UK Investor. Ed will be doing a main stage presentation with a top chartist on fundamentals versus technicals, looking at the wider debate plus analysing key stock picks of Nigel Wray and Mark Slater plus some audience suggestions. Ed will also be doing a solo lunchtime session in a 250 seater breakout room. Remember the 50% off early bird ticket offer ends at Midnight on Monday 30th June. Do you remember Ed's star turn from 2014?
Ed is joined on the main stage 2015 by Nigel Wray, Vin Murria, Mark Slater, Ben Edelman, Amanda Van Dyke, Matt Earl, Lucian Miers, Evil Knievil, Dominic Frisby, Charlotte Argyle (picture) and many others. We already have 35 big name speakers and a really big name has today agreed to join them...more on that later.
There are also now 60 of the 110 growth companies booked in to attend.

Yesterday my colleague Gary Newman argued HERE that at 66p shares in blinkx (BLNX) were a buy. I respect Gary but disagree with him, this company is not worth £264 million. The shares remain a sell.
I start on the fundamental basis that Ben Edelman accused blinkx of engaging in illegal activities. blinkx blustered and used lawyers to bully. But it has failed to deal with Edelman’s core allegations and has not actually instigated legal proceedings against him. Watch the Edelman UK Investor Show video HERE and see what you think.
Now if Edelman is correct you really have to question the quality of earnings and earnings visibility here – as such I’d put blinkx on a very lousy PE.
blinkx does at least have $126 million cash

For once I am looking reasonably smart as I head up to London to meet with Mark Slater later this week and record a detailed video interview based on the presentation he prepared for, but was unable to deliver at the UK Investor Show 2014. Meanwhile preparations for the 2015 show on April 18 in Westminster accelerate – 30 speakers (out of 50) are already in and 35 companies out of 110 are also booked in. Both lists are growing rapidly. Following the mammoth success of UK Investor Show 2014 we are moving into overdrive for the 2015 show on April 18 and one new feature will be a series of 14 one hour masterclasses with an audience limited to 80 – we are taking on an additional floor in Westminster.
In these rooms Amanda Van Dyke will be doing a session on how to value mining stocks. Brian Basham will be doing a session on making money from Crowd Funding. And new for this year, Adam Reynolds, the Company Rescuer, will be doing a masterclass on how to make money from shell companies.
Adam is the brains behind two companies currently suspended pending RTOs. Real Man is invested in both Ducat Ventures (DUC) and Vialogy (VIY) and I am an insider on both so all I can say is that I am incredibly excited and they will pay for Christmas - see HERE

It is still just over a year until the 2015 UK Investor Show but following the smash success of the sell-out 2014 show, the UK's leading investor show is already able to announce the first 21 speakers who have agreed to appear in 2015!
They are: Nigel Wray, Evil Knievil, myself (Tom Winnifrith), Clem Chambers, Vin Murria, Ben Edelman, Paul Scott, Lucian Miers, Steve Moore, Robert Sutherland Smith, Cathal Friel, Andrew Bell, Marcus Hanke, Amanda Van Dyke, Matt Earl, Thierry Laduguie and..
NEW For 2015: Charlotte Argyle, Ben Turney, Jason Drummond, Dominic Picarda and BrokerMan Daniel
Some failing shows manage only a handful of speakers but UK Investor Show delivers both changes each year AND the big names. Over the coming weeks we will announce more big name speakers as we plan an increased number of sessions as we take on more floor space. Brace yourself for a 50 speaker show!
And there will also be 110 stands for PLCs to exhibit and present from. Already we are almost 20% booked out and we will start announcing those exhibiting very soon.
There are two classes of tickets:
A Golden Ticket guarantees you a front three row seat in any of the days 110 sessions plus a pass to the after show party with CEOs, speakers and journalists. It costs £60 (inc VAT)
An Investor class ticket gains access to any session at the show and costs £12 including VAT.
BUT you can buy either type of ticket with a 50% early bird discount if you book NOW. You can buy your early bird tickets HERE

The UK Investor Show 2014 yesterday was a sell-out show which attendees seem universally to have enjoyed. The 90 growth companies attending say that they enjoyed engaging with some quite spirited investors and everyone had a ball. For me the highlights were:
1. Making the Queen of Tech, Vin Murria laugh not once but twice on stage. That should be a career high to retire on. I found her session with CEOs Stephen Streater, John Wisbey and Marcus Hanke utterly riveting.
2. Value investing with Nigel Wray, Ed Croft, Paul Kavanagh and Chris Bailey really was very different to what we have done before in this area. All were smooth, self-deprecating but really insightful.
3. In the shareholder activism session Paul Scott & Roger Lawson did not hold back while our “ordinary investors” Nigel and Richard showed how anyone can make a difference on the AIM Cesspit.
4. Amanda van Dyke’s legs in the mining session. The Goddess was in fire. In fact that whole session was again illuminating with Amanda showing she is a hell of a lot more than a pretty face and Dom Frisby letting tip in a way that makes me think he should join shareholder activism next year. Should I tip a gold stock or two? On balance not yet.
5. Ben Edelman was a real showman but also a geek who knows his stuff. I really wish Blinkx had taken up my offer to respond to Ben as he made some really massive points.
6. The bears seemed united on Globo. We had laughs all the way but Matt Earl, Lucian Miers and Evil also made some very valid points.
7. The after show party for speakers and gold ticket holders. The winner of the financial celebrity make a pizza competition was Ed Croft followed by Paul Scott (but he cheated with his training in Domino’s). Sandra Spencer…don’t give up your day job. Paul Scott has tweeted that I was a “charming” person. I shall be consulting my lawyer

Steve Moore and I have been bearish on blinkx (BLNX) from well into the BE (Before Edelman) era. Our concern was simply that the rating was too high. We were right to be bearish although it won us no fans on the Bulletin Boards. But now that the shares have slumped to 91p would I rather be long or short? To be honest I just don’t know. I do not have a Scooby. Here’s why.
Ben Edelman made serious allegations on Saturday at The Uk Investor Show. If he is correct then one part of the blinkx business is generating revenues from adware in a way that the FTC prohibits. It is doing so, according to Edelman, via a unit which under its previous owner was shut down and fined heavily by the FTC for doing the same thing. I would have loved blinkx to have accepted my offer to respond to that claim. It, so far, has not.
What I am trying to get a handle on is what percentage of blinkx revenues and profits come from this area. I chatted to short selling analyst Paddington Bear last night and he put it thus:

A little bit of a misunderstanding with the Mrs and the alarm clock saw me still soundly asleep as the 4.47 AM pulled out of Bristol today. In the end I had a pleasant lie-in, worked in the morning and just after lunch (an apple) kissed goodbye to the cats and the Mrs and headed off. Now in London I will not see Bristol, or the cats, again for more than a month.
The Mrs is heading up later in the week for her Birthday and the UK Investor Show on Saturday where she will be personfully ( you see dearest, I can be PC if I try) looking after speakers in one of the breakout rooms and then wandering around with her parents who are also attending. Tes, the mother-in-law is coming to the show. Be very afraid. I am. I guess I won’t be swearing all day just in case she hears and gives me a scary and dirty look.
And then a few farewells and it is off to Greece on my own at first as I try to find the grave of my great uncle David. Thereafter the Mrs joins me as we spend a couple of weeks in the Mani where – I warn you – the internet connection can be patchy. It will be early May before I get back to Bristol, the cats, a new kitchen sort of designed by me with a lovely new Range Cooker. It seems like a long time away but I am sure that time will fly.
Anyhow my battered and well-travelled rucksack is packed and with me as we prepare to go hill walking in Greece once again. I really cannot wait.

Is it criminal to say that of Endeavour, Morse and Lewis I am perhaps the biggest fan of the young Morse? Perhaps it is because I have all the Morse and Lewis episodes on DVD and also torture the Mrs by watching them whenever I can on ITV 3 so Endeavour is just that bit fresher?
Perhaps it is because the relationship between Endeavour and Fred Thursday is just so different to the Morse/Lewis and the Lewis/Hathaway pairings? That is no to say that they were not wonderful contrasts and watching the last ever Morse (again) the other week was still very moving. Maybe it is the setting in the early sixties, a period I do not know that is so appealing?
Whatever the reason, the highlight of the weekend looms. For two hours I shall be away from my PC, not thinking about the UK Investor Show next Saturday or the holiday to Greece that follows. Today is Endeavour day as the new series begins.

I was starting to panic. My journey to Greece starts next Wednesday when I leave Bristol and until this morning the passport I ordered a few weeks ago had not arrived. Worse still, when I used the Passport Office auto-tracking forms it appeared that our friends in Cardiff had no record of me at all. But the panic is over, a brand new passport has arrived, with no record of my visits to Israel or the USA and so I could now go to Kurdistan to meet Gulf Keystone (GKP) if I wanted to. I don’t.
And so in a week’s time I must kiss goodbye to the cats and head to London. The Mrs joins me on the 3rd for her birthday. Naturally I shall not reveal which birthday it is. But your clues are that it is a round number, she is younger than me and although I thought she was in her late twenties when she first chatted me up by showing me an interesting article in the Guardian, she appears younger than she is.
Then it is UK Investor Show on the 5th, a hangover on the 6th (and a day with the in-laws who are coming to London for the show), supper with Matt Suttcliffe on the 7th, a hangover on the 8th and on the 9th it is off to my beloved Hellas for three and a half weeks of walking, writing and searching for the grave of Great Uncle David Cochrane. And if it is goat milking season I shall naturally be having another go at that too.
I cannot wait. Does anyone know if it is goat milking season or not?

Inevitably I start this weekend’s video postcard with the Rugby. I am sure that most of my English based readers were cheering for France yesterday. To my Celtic brethren who were rooting for Ireland – I am sure that you can share my joy. Gosh it was nerve wracking.
I then move onto the mysteries of my dead Great Uncles. If there is anyone out there who can track down Diana Norman, born 1915 who married (after the death of my Great Uncle Francis) a Mr Caulfield Stoker in 1947 (he then popped his clogs in Guernsey in 1954) I would be grateful. I can find no death certificate for Diana who would be 99 now but for reasons explained in the video and this article I am keen to track her down.
I then move onto Bob Crow. I celebrate no death. Equally I do not mince my words and Crow screwed the poor working classes and that should be noted rather than simply eulogising Saint Bob.
This is a wider issue: how and why the left systematically keep the working classes poor and that this the main theme of this video.
My weekly financial video covers shareholder activism a major theme of UK Investor Show which is now a day less than three weeks away. Tickets start to go out tomorrow. If you have not booked please do so at once HERE

The debate is between two libertarian thinkers trained in economics. Richard Poulden will argue that there will be no crash. I shall argue that there will be one.
This is our sixth annual debate and the score is currently 3-2 to Richard.
Our debates are informal if information packed. Hence we kick off this one at 9.20 AM as a sort of warm up for the main talks which start at 9.50 AM. Doors open at 9 AM.
The show is as of today 81% sold out. If you want to get a ticket (while stocks last) you can book HERE

Some investor shows let you in for free but then charge you an arm and a leg to see any speaker of any interest at all. We do not. Buy your Investor Class ticket for just £10 and you can see all 44 of our big name speakers and wander around our 90 PLC exhibitor stands for free. There are no hidden charges.
But you can also buy a golden ticket. Of the 75 on offer there are now just 5 left.
To buy a golden ticket at £50 or an investor ticket at £10 click here
What is a golden ticket? It brings two bonuses: First you can pre-book a front row seat for any talk. That seat will be saved for you with your name.
And secondly it brings you a pass to an after show champagne party with key speakers and CEOs held at Maribelle’s – and transport to the party is provided. I do not know what time it will end but I won’t be going home early.

To remind yourself of the 90 PLC exhibitors go HERE
And to book a golden ticket or an investor class ticket go HERE
All tickets will be despatched by post in Mid March

We are ringing the changes at The UK Investor Show on April 5 in Westminster. One big change is the introduction of the bloggers café – a special area where writers like Brokerman Dan, Doc Holiday, Malcolm Stacey, Malcolm Palle from Mining Maven, Robert Sutherland Smith, Steve Moore and myself will spend much of the day, blogging, tweeting and just chatting to anyone who wants a chat over a coffee. Hopefully my fave Tory blogger Charlotte Argylle will also join us at the cafe.
Of course we are not the main attraction but this is another reason for you to book a seat at the UK Investor Show this year -. Why book in to attend?
* A top location: the QE2 Centre in the heart of Westminster
* A cracking line-up of big name presenters. Nigel Wray, Mark Slater, Evil Knievil and I am back from 2013. But we are joined this year by 40 other speakers including Terry Smith, the tech queens Vin Murria and Cassandra Harris; Mining gurus Amanda van Dyke, Dominic Frisby and Matt Suttcliffe and blogger supremo Paul Scott and now the Blinkx Destroyer Ben Edelman.
*Real variety – main stage sessions on value investing, Bitcoins, mining investing, crowd-funding, tech investing, oil & gas, shareholder activism and much more
*Better and more exhibiting companies. Last year 50 companies attended the UK Investor Show. This year we already have 90 booked in and counting – the latest booking came just today: Tangent Communications (TNG) - a very profitable AIM listed media company. And most of these PLCs will also do a 20 minute presentation in smaller side room for those who really want to know more.
You can get full details of the speaker line up HERE
You can get full details of the main stage presentations HERE
You can get full details of the exhibiting companies HERE
Already well over half the seats for this event have been booked with 4% of the tickets going yesterday alone!

I look forward to seeing you on April 5 in Westminster

The big news today is that a true mega star has agreed to fly to Britain for one day only to headline at The UK Investor Show in London on April 5. Meet Ben Edelman. If you are a Blinkx (BLNX) shareholder you will already have done so – you have lost more than 50% of your money since he produced a detailed report on the company.
Professor Edelman will make a rare London appearance as the headline speaker at The UK Investor Show on April 5 in Westminster
Edelman shot to prominence in the UK with his recent analysis of Blinkx. Edelman argued that Blinkx adware sneaks onto users’ computers, violates regulatory requirements, and overcharges advertisers. Blinkx denies the allegations. Its share price continues to slide.
Much of Edelman’s recent work examines the activities of Google. In 2010, he uncovered the Google Toolbar continuing to track users’ web browsing even after users asked that the toolbar be disabled and even after the toolbar disappeared from view. His most recent article examines Google’s Mobile Application Distribution Agreement terms – previously-secret documents that he says impede competition by alternatives apps and services, and drive up prices to consumers.
Recently labelled the “web sheriff” by Bloomberg, Edelman will be speaking on the questionable business practices of a variety of Internet companies, ranging from giants like Google to smaller firms including Blinkx.
Edelman joins a 42 strong main stage line up on April 5th including Nigel Wray, Terry Smith, Vin Murria, Evil Knievil, Mark Slater, Dominic Frisby, bear raiders Lucian Miers and Matt Earl and blogging supremo Paul Scott.
A full list can be found at www.UKinvestorshow.com/speakers
Edelman is quoted as saying: “My visits to London are all too rare, but the British market has led the world in many kinds of advertising integrity - I look forward to showing an informed audience a variety of controversial behaviours, including some material not previously seen elsewhere.”
We have now sold more than 60% of the ordinary tickets for the event and all bar a handful of the golden tickets which come with bonus features such as an invitation to the after show champagne party at Maribelle’s. You can get your tickets at www.ukinvestorshow.com/tickets
And there are still a few surprises left for the show, notably on the shareholder activism front. Watch this space.
This year I shall not be compering the event – that baton passes to my old friend co-presenter on Show Me The Money, Louise Noel. Okay Louise was the main presenter I was just there for my (then) looks. Okay to talk about the market knowledgably. I digress. The fact that I am not on stage so much means that I plan to be able to join friends such as Malcolm Stacey, Brokerman Dan, Doc Holiday, Steve Moore, Malcolm Palle of Mining Maven and others in the bloggers café, chatting to anyone who is interested about shares that may interest them. As well as tweeting away #ukinvestorshow – I hope to meet many of you there.
But the star attractions are others: Wray, Lucian Miers, Matt Earl, Evil, Slater, Vin Murria, Amanda Van Dyke, Dom Frisby, Brian Basham and now of course Ben Edelman.
On that note I hope that if you have not done so already you book a ticket for the show and look forward to seeing you on April 5 in Westminster: www.ukinvestorshow.com/tickets

It is a bit of a day for reflection. For it was exactly a year ago today that I headed down to Gatwick Airport to fly to Greece. It was a one way ticket as frankly I was not exactly sure if or when I would bother coming back. As I am sure you are all aware my world had pretty much imploded. As I sit here a year later an awful lot has changed.
At one level it is all to the good. I shall have a quiet meal with my deluded lefty partner tonight. Professionally, the writing and the Real Man restaurant and UK Investor Show are all pretty much on track. Nothing happens as quickly as you might like but the trend is my friend.
But there is always another side.

Christopher Booker founded Private Eye, was campaigning journalist of the year several times in the 1970s and as a columnist on the Sunday Telegraph and ( sometimes) on the Daily Mail he is a scourge of global warming nutters, the EU and all things that right thinking folks despise. He is also my uncle and godfather. And he knew the late Margaret Thatcher well. His speech at UK Investor Show on April 13 reflects on that and on Maggie’s U-Turns on Europe and on global warming as well as setting the record straight on her attitude to apartheid. It is a stormer.

This video is of a debate at the UKInvestor Show between myself and my good frienjd Richard Poulden. It is short and quick fire and regrettably I lost the vote. But it leads into my announcement of later today and is well worth watching.

It seems like just yesterday that Easyjet dropped us off at the one airport on this Island. We were the only plane on the Tarmac and the terminal was 75 yards away. Naturally we waited 5 minutes for a bus to arrive to take us to the terminal. All must have non jobs.
I will offer a few more thoughts up on Greece but the flagpole is on the sea about fifty yards from where we are staying. It is not a bad view to wake up to. But this has been an all too brief stay and today we wend our way back towards the airport and tomorrow it is back to Britain. Farewell to the oil lake, to the wild dill, to Greek salads every meal, to the terrapins in the stream nearby and to Marlboro Lights at 3.90 Euro a packet. Farewell to a life of getting up at 4 AM your time to write on my PC on the balcony overlooking the sea while my partner snoozes.
Normal writing services resume as of Sunday evening. The Tomograph will be back next Wednesday. Meanwhile Darren will continue to load videos from the UK Investor Show onto both ADVFN and to Shareprophets.com - next up is Christopher Booker.
This has been a good place to think. An announcement is pending. Ho. Ho. Ho.

I am still completely wiped out. It is incredibly draining doing presentation after presentation and half way through the post event celebrations I fell asleep (ok I had enjoyed a few drinks as well) but I still feel utterly drained. And so once I have ruined a few other weekends by breaking news of a planning oil company merger involving a well-known name I think I am off to sleep again.
Thanks for the many emails from folks who said that they enjoyed the show. On balance so did I. I thought that the talks were more interesting than for many a year. They have been put on video and so will start to go up from Tuesday in a variety of places. But suffice to say you should register now at www.shareprophets.com to catch many of them.
The location was not ideal. Not least that in order to feed my addiction I had to scrounge a spare packet of Marlboro Light from David Lenigas who had thoughtfully come well supplied. But ADVFN and I know enough now and the show was a success and so we are now planning for UKInvestor 2014. Watch this space – we will announce the date soon.
Highlights for me?
The young man who now writes tips appearing disguised in dark glasses to gain entry (not having booked a ticket). When spotted by Steve Moore, he claimed that he was at Excel to go to the International Cake show down the hall and made a swift exit.
Nick Leslau and Nigel Wray – optimistic about the UK economy and as a double act far more powerful than as individuals. A lot of wisdom was shared by the pair.
Losing the debate with Richard Poulden once again. I am now 3-2 down but I really will try to do slides next year and stage a comeback.
Mark Slater. The obligatory dirty joke but the quality of his analysis of the markets and of individual stocks (three of which have been tipped by myself and Steve) was incredible.
Nigel Farage – unscripted, lucid, funny and on most issues bang on the money. I had a good chat with him and Chris Booker after the event and he is a very funny and pleasant chap. C Booker’s Thatcher tribute was bang on the money and nailed a number of leftie canards.
Above all I really enjoyed meeting so many of you who attended (particularly, I should say, David from Oxford). Thanks for all the kind words and I hope that you enjoyed the day. On stage I had more fun than I have had for years. I can say what I like these days and I feel like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I actually enjoyed the day in a way that I have not enjoyed MI days for a long time. With the speakers, stand holders and the audience I felt far more at home than I can remember being for years.
The home team from RMPC & ADVFN staging our first show should be thanked, notably John W, Clem, Fiona and especially Mike Hodges and from our side Darren, Nigel, Sarah, Steve, Robert Sutherland Smith and Martha. It was their first run at this, the second time is always easier.
So thank you to all who attended. ADVFN and RMPC starts work on Monday on UK Investor 2014 which will be bigger and different. I hope to see even more of you there then.
Tom
PS I should mention one other highlight. The after show pool games. I defeated Andrew Bell of Red Rock. Zak Mir fluked a victory against me. And then it was the final: The UKIP volunteers against myself & Zak. They had been trying to persuade Zak to sign up to UKIP although he is obviously a bit too right wing for them. And so with the prize being that if Zak and I won they would allow him to become the party’s immigration spokesman (Zak’s views are unprintably stern on this matter, making Evil seem like a total Guardian reader) we played. The bad news for UKIP is that Zak and I won.

I know that some folks do not believe that we actually have Justice 4 the Sefton 2 T-shirts and a range of Piss Off Argentina produce as well as the It’s Time to Leave range. And of course we still stock the “I’m a real man line.” And just to prove it here is Dominique the new manageress at Real man Pizza displaying the entire range which you can pick up on Saturday at the UK Investor Show at Excel.
Remember that if you turn up at Real Man in Clerkenwell at any time on Friday 12th or Saturday 13th April clutching a ticket for the UKInvestor show you will get 20% off your meal. You can book a table at any time on 0207 242 3246

In four days time on Saturday 13th April I shall be debating the motion “AIM is finished” in a ten minute debate with my old friend Richard Poulden at www.UKInvestorshow.com . Richard is a gent and so has taken the short straw in standing up for AIM. I have the open goal – Aim is the true heir to the abomination that the USM (Unlisted Securities Market) became in its final days.
Lack of liquidity is endemic. Investors are bored. Or Angry. Or both. Feckless boards have fleeced them. A regulatory system based on fee-hungry and avaricious Nominated Advisors has failed. Putting some Nomads in charge of regulation is like asking the late Jimmy Savile to look after your kids!

f you want to hear quality speakers there is only one UK Investor show to attend next year and that is The UKInvestor Show held on April 13th at Excel in London. The speaker lineup is now almost complete with news that Mark Slater, the most successful fund manager of his generation is on board.
Mark joins as the other main stage speakers: Nigel Wray (Britain’s Buffett), Nick Leslau (property legend and secret millionaire), bear raiders Lucian Miers and Evil Knievil, gold guru Dominic Frisby and UKIP leader Nigel Farage.
And that is not all: The trader’s session (also a main stage event) is chaired by Steve Moore and stars Clem Chambers, Alpesh Patel, Simon Denham, John Piper and Zak Mir (plus one name to reveal shortly)
And in the breakout rooms we have the Goddess, Amanda VanDyke on making money from mining stocks, Stanley Gibbons boss Mike Hall on alternative investments, Roger Lawson on shareholder activism and Christopher Booker on how global warming costs you so much.
There is the Poulden v Winnifrith debate (10 minutes of main stage comedy) and 80 companies presenting at CEO level.
No other show comes even close to assembling such an all star lineup.
There are just 2,500 tickets on offer. They go strictly on a first come first served basis. Already more than a fifth are gone ahead of the official launch of the show campaign in the New Year. Treat yourself to a free gift this Christmas. To book your free seat and to get more details click HERE.
