PERSONAL, UNDILUTED VIEWS FROM TOM WINNIFRITH

Lefty BBC star Sarah Smith does not even question palpably false SNP Money Tree claims

As of yesterday, Scotland accelerated its quest to become the Greece of the North as it passed a budget making it the highest tax region of the UK. Higher rate taxpayers in the Celtic welfare safari will pay £400 a year more tax than those earning £43,000 or more anywhere else in the UK. Fine. Sooner or later the Money Tree worshipping heathens will discover that the Laffer curve is no laughing matter.

Reporting on this was Sarah Smith, daughter of the late Labour leader John Smith and thus a woman with clear lefty credentials and who has risen, entirely on merit, to the top of BBC news in Scotland. Sara duly trotted out the line that her fellow Money Tree worshippers in the SNP were pushing: This is the cost of Scots - unlike all other Britons - getting free NHS subscriptions. And they also get free University Education and free deep fried Mars bars to go with their free heroin. Okay I made that last "free" but up but there was a long list of other genuine and equally justifiable "frees" which we do not enjoy in England, Wales or Northern Ireland.

Of course the Scots had all these "frees" before the tax hike. This is not therefore a tax hike to pay for all those frees it is to pay for some new frees or the ever more bloated cost of running the devolved assembly. All the frees Ms Smith mentioned are, thanks to the Barnett formula, paid for by the English, Welsh and Ulster subsidy of the Greece of the North.

Ms Smith could have torn apart the SNP's nonsense in half a minute. She did not. She did not provide any critique at all. That is not the way that the money tree worshipping deficit lovers North of the border operate. And BBC Scotland sits at the heart of that Scottish mindset.

Gosh how I wish for a privatized BBC and Independence for the subsidy junkies North of Hadrian's Wall.

Poisonous and delusional midget Nicola Sturgeon of the SNP is mad, innumerate and running a near bankrupt nation of scroungers

1002 days ago

I remember my daughter remarking how wonderful the poisonous midget Nicola Sturgeon of the SNP was a couple of years ago, for there was a time when on both sides of the border this silly woman appeared to be the darling of the left, of the liberal media and the metropolitan bien pensants. Since my daughter lives in Islington, I expect midget worshipping was almost compulsory for her. But how the Sturgeon devotees must be recanting for as every day goes by the Scottish leader seems sillier and more disingeneous.

Data came out this week showing that Scotland is running a budget deficit of £15 billion. Last year it spent £68.6 billion, not all of it wisely, but brought in revenues of just £53.7 billion. Some of the gap is down to oil revenues collapsing by 97% as the oil price tanked but that explains only a portion of the shortfall.

Of course all of the UK runs a budget deficit. But the Scottish deficit equates to 9% of its GDP, the UK deficit is half of that. Successive British leaders - including Cameron, May, Brown and Blair have been happy to grant ever greater largesse to the folks in the Greece of the North to bribe them not to opt for independence. But all that is doing is racking up an ever greater debt for the UK and it is England & Wales which disproportionately will be servicing that debt. Why should taxpayers south of Hardrian's wall continue to subsidise the welfare junkies North of the Wall?

Sadly English Independence is not on the agenda but Nicola Sturgeon thinks that Scottish Independence might be. Scotland's deficit to GDP ratio would be highest in the EU, yes even greater than that managed by the Scotland of the South, the mighty Hellenic Republic. What on earth makes the midget Sturgeon think that the EU would welcome a basket case like Scotland? It has more than enough basket cases of its own already. And who does Sturgeon think will fund her deficit going forward once the English sugar daddy disappears? Naturally, Sturgeon, like nearly all Scots, believes in the Money Tree.

Having claimed that Scotland would be the 14th richest country on earth post independence when confronted with the facts that demonstrate that it might just be the 14th richest country in West Africa Sturgeon moves from lies to demonstrating madness and ignorance. The biggest problem Scotland faces she say is not the fact that it makes Rwanda look like a model of fiscal excellence but Brexit. The midget says, relying on Dodgy Dave Cameron's dodgy dossier, that leaving the EU will make Scotland £11 billion worse off.

That Dodgy Dave derived stat related to his - made up - estimate of the effect of a lower growth in GDP out to 2030 divided by population. Not only was this made up "fact" just nonsense but as anyone with a grade D in GCSE Economics knows GDP data in 2030 is not the same as a budget deficit in 2016. In claiming the two as the same lyin' Nicola shows her ignorance. In ignoring the dire state of Scottish finances yet still campaigning for Independence she shows herself to be mad.

As an English taxpayer I wish the mad, lying and ignorant little midget the best of luck. The sooner she leads her nation of bleating welfare addicted scroungers off to fuck off to enjoy economic destitution and full independence the better.

Nicola Sturgeon: why would the EU want Scotland? it has enough basket cases and idlers already

1040 days ago

Nicola Sturgeon seems amazed that EU leaders are not lining up begging Scotland to join the Evil Empire as soon as possible. It has not dawned on her that, set to lose a major benefactor in form of the United Kingdom (in reality England plus the Celtic scroungers), the last thing it wants is to take back the welfare addicted nation of idlers that is Scotland. Heck the EU alread has the economic basket case that is the Real Greece why would it want the wannabee Greece of the North as well?

88% of Scots are net takers from the State. The entire Scottish political class seem to be born again Money Tree believers with no concept of Fiscal prudence because they know that since 1707 the ever grateful English have been picking up the tab for the whims and follies of those North of the border.

If Britain gets to leave the EU the initial saving is £350 million a week. Jettison the smelly socks as well and that number goes up sharply. It is a win win for us here in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. It is party time.

But why on earth does the poisonous midget from Edinburgh things that the EU wants to admit another mouth to feed, another nation stuffed with obese welfare junkies with a sense of entitlemnent? The EU deck already contains far too many cards of that nature, the last thing it wants is another in the form of Scotland.

Want to slash the deficit Mr Osborne? Simple: Axe Scotland

1159 days ago

The poisonous midget who leads the SNP, Nicola Sturgeon told her party faithful the other day that she was going to organise another referendum on independence come what may. It is no surprise that the midget is so keen on the EU given how she buys into its idea of democracy: the people can vote however they wish in referenda and they will keep voting until they vote the "right" way.

Of course independence would be economic suicide for Scotland. At $100 oil it was spending more than it would have received in tax. 89% of Scots are net takers from the State and the nation is almost united in its belief in money tree economics.

Despite all this spending Scotland gets poorer as the public sector squeezes out the wealth creating sector, and sicker - life expectancy in Glaswegian men is now - at 57 - lower than anywhere else in the EU, indeed in the Eurovision zone which includes Ukraine with its civil war and its Chernobyl legacy.

As an independent nation, Scotland would be the Greece of the North at $100 oil. At $40 oil it would be the Upper Volta of the North which perhaps explains why while Miss Sturgeon may wish to join the EU, the Evil Empire is not quite so keen on embracing the bottomless pit that would be an independent Scotland. But perhaps a deal could be done - independent Scotland could for instance be used to rehome 2 million Syrian refugees as a condition of its EU membership.

Heck I feel sorry for the Syrians. Living in a place where no-one speaks proper English, no-one works and life expectancy is falling fast amidst widespread poverty and violence and a regime losing grip on reality would be really grim. So maybe after a few weeks in Glasgow they would be begging to go back to Syria.

Despite the fact that it would be economic suicide, increasing numbers of Scots seem to want independence. We follow a familiar pattern which sees moaning heathens bleat "The Tories won the UK election but we voted for Money Tree worshippers here it is all so unfair, our poverty is all the fault of the English and Thatcher, we want more state aid, cry freedom, we sent Proud Edward's army home, Brits out, yadda yadda yadda."

This pattern of abuse of the English and blaming others for all their woes will continue ad infinitum so lets put an end to it with an English vote this June 23 "Do you want the Scots to fuck off so that you get to keep more of your money here in England?" Yes or No. Its all very simple.

Actually why bother with a vote just privatise Scotland. Sell it to the highest bidder. "You there the midget in the corner bidding £1 on behalf of the Scottish people, there are no higher offers, here you are, you own Scotland"

Lets make it easy Scotland can take none of the National Debt. It can start with a clean sheet. A few years imbibing the fruits of the money tree will see to that but then Scotland will have no-one to blame but the Scots. The English will see their debt to GDP ratio increase short term, but without Scotland sucking at the Treasury teet ad infinitum the deficit will be slashed at a stroke. Move "political" State projects like Faslane back to England and unemployment in the hard working South would be slashed.

What is not to like about this cunning plan?

As an added bonus, having jettisoned the bleating Scots we might then have a look at those other Celtic welfare safaris, Wales and Northern Ireland. Next time that the cocktail of semi-retired muderers, religious bigots and closet homosexuals that make up the Stormont Assembly demand more money to spunk on a pointless project, the English could simply say "shut up and behave yourself or you will go the way of Scotland". Pretty soon both celtic welfare safaris could be whipped into line with their budgets slashed. The era of bribes for good behaviour would be over, the era of austerity and self-reliance would be upon them.

It gets better by the day, can anyone explain the flaw in what I propose?

Weekly Video Postcard #79 – Why Scotland should vote YES! To Independence

1720 days ago

After a morning hacking away frigana at the Greek Hovel, Tom’s message from the Greece of the South is for the Greece of the North – Scotland.

The independence debate is marked by delusion – on both sides. Tom suggests you watch former oil analyst Andrew Bell explain why the SNP oil numbers are all wrong HERE.

The reality is that Scotland has become a welfare addicted big Government economic failure. It is united with a Country with a different value set and approach to life. For its own sake Scotland needs independence so that its people can again learn the idea of self-reliance.

And English taxpayers have no moral obligation to fund a failed system of Government and economics. Speaking as an English taxpayer Tom is praying for a Yes vote.

Tom’s financial video postcard this week covers why he believes a stockmarket crash is on the cards and soon and can be viewed HERE

51% of 5 million welfare addicts set to vote for economic hara-kiri: Poll says Scots will vote yes in #IndyRef – Great News!

1721 days ago

From Greece in the South I have been watching the run up to the referendum debate in the Greece of the North with some amusement. Ever since Gordon Brown lent his weight to the No campaign, Scots have been flocking to the Yes camp in increasing numbers and a poll tonight suggests 51% will vote for independence. As an English taxpayer I am delighted, the sooner the welfare addicted scroungers piss off the better.

89% of Scots are net takers from the State. Scotland has every year bar one (1976) been a net taker from England since the Act of Union. All mainstream Scots political parties are Money Tree worshippers and consistently demand that Government spends more and more. That is Scotland’s problem, it has created a nation of welfare junkies.

The debate seems to have been of an abysmal standard. One side invents major new oil fields which the English wish to steal, while Call Me Dave warns Scots that without England they are more vulnerable to Al-Qaeda/ISIS attacks. Yeah right…I know that many ISIS fighters come from places like Somalia but even they would find 95% of urban Scotland a bit of a shit hole. And imagine if an ISIS fighter was captured by the Scots. Stick him in a room with a bunch of overweight, chain smoking workshy Glaswegians and after 24 hours of them bleating on about how England causes all their problems, the Islamofascist would beg for mercy and reveal all.

As an English taxpayer I cannot wait to have the economic burden of Scotland removed as soon as possible. I am also praying that it means that I never have to hear or see ever again a list of frightful Scots including Kirsty Wark, Gordon Brown, Andy Murray, Alex Ferguson, that uber boring cyclist whose name I forget and Gordon Strachan. However, I shall be sad to see Hazel Irvine leave our screens and very much hope that she seeks economic asylum in England as I have always had a soft spot for her.

But overall I am delighted by this poll. I suspect that one reason that the Yes campaign is doing so well is that the political establishment is so united behind a No vote. As with UKIP this is another way of sticking two fingers up at a class of people who are beneath contempt.

Of course it would be economic suicide for the Greece of the North to go it alone. Given that it will be insolvent within a few years as a standalone entity there is no way that the smelly socks can keep using the pound. I really suggest that Mr Salmond sends an email to Athens asking if there are any old drachmas the Scots can use.

There will be untold misery when the welfare addicts eventually discover that the Money Tree is a myth. And that their own insolvency cannot be blamed on England but is their fault alone. But that is their problem. I pay my taxes in England and work in England and I am sick to the back teeth of subsidizing an ungrateful bunch of miserable shirkers.  Nothing would make me happier than a yes vote on 19th September – and I wish Alex Salmond God Speed in separating his lard arsed miserable tribe from the rest of us as soon as possible.
