Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: On mating golden eagles, Joshua's heroic swimming and Big Sofa

Big Sofa - I am writing this one off

Throughout the year Big Sofa (BST) has been telling us that everything was going well with new hires and client wins. Well that was a fecking lie as the circular issued the other day but not received by this shareholder shows. Do I want to put up more cash or be 90% diluted? You know what? I will take the hit and I now write this off mentally as a zero. I apologise to all who have lost money on this one. If its any consolation my personal hit is in excess of £40,000.  I now value this as a zero and indeed rather look forward to Big Sofa spunking this placing and going bust.

Big Sofa updates we long suffering shareholders

The relatively new CEO at, now delisted, Big Sofa (BST) has updated we long suffering shareholders. Well some of them. Like most of the company’s owners I was not sent the newsletter below but someone who was has passed it on. It seems that the last CEO, that bird Kirsty, was all talk just like her predecessor. But Sam Curtis sounds like he is making some progress. Those closer to the action than I am, still talk of a trade sale in 2023 or sooner but I shall believe it when I see it. Sam’s views are below.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Putting Steve O'Hara straight on Institutional investors

My video with Optibiotix (OPTI_) boss Steve is with Darren and the show should go live tomorrow. But I pick up on one point and that is the behaviour of IIs vs PIs.  Then with that also in mind I look at Savannah Resources (SAV), comment on Big Sofa (BST) and then on the fun and games at Versarien (VRS) which could well bring my 0p target a lot sooner than I had thought.  We have now raised more than £15,000 ( with gift aid) as the rogue bloggers for Woodlarks. Thank you to Jocelyn and Vin for two big donations today, can you please also be generous and donate HERE

Big Sofa April Update

Overall, I suppose, things are going the right way for now delisted Big Sofa (BST) but just a bit more slowly than we might have hpoed. Will we loyal shareholders get a takeover within 18 months? I still hope so. But I am not going to count any chickens just yet. Anyhow as I can’t sell my shares I have no choice but to wait. Here is the April update from CEO Kirsty Fuller.

Big Sofa is this Light at the end of the tunnel or another express train heading towards my portfolio

I am asked for where we are with Big Sofa (BST). As you may know, it delisted last April saying PLC costs were not worth it. It then raised £1 million at 3p a share in October so how is it doing?  I hope that it is making its way towards profitability and a trade sale. Just as I hope that Cheryl Cole has something special for me for my birthday next week. But in both cases I think it is sensible to plan for the the outcome not being entirely as one might have wished. Anyhow Big Sofa has sent a missive to some of its shareholders, some folks being more equal than others. So for those of you plebs who did not receive an update on trading, here it is.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Zak Mir's kiss of death as I celebrate P45s for vermin journalists

I have spent most of the day recording videos for MineProphets and should warn you that Zak Mir has served up a double kiss of death. Anyway the content is – forgive my conceit – excellent so please book your seat now HERE.  In the podcast I discuss scumbags at Blue Rock Diamonds (BRD), Great Western Mining (GWMO) and its scumbag broker Novum, Kefi Minerals (KEFI) where I was wrong about something and Big Sofa (BST).

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Don't laugh, there is good news about Big Sofa

I am absolutely exhausted. Recording videos is pretty draining. You have to remember not to pick your nose and to be alert at all times and right now I am recording four or five a day plus bearcast. That is all for the ShareProphets Shares Conference where, I promise, you will be dazzled by the content so BOOK YOUR TICKET NOW HERE!!! In today’s podcast I discuss Big Sofa (BST), Shell (RDSB), ValiRx (VAL), Catenae (CTEA) and James “Dracula” Parsons, Cheryl Cole and Ascent Resources (AST). Suffice to say only one of that trio excites me in any way.

Big Sofa - to leave AIM, is it game over? 3 End Games

There are three scenarios here of which one is that Big Sofa (BST) goes bust and we shareholders lose everything. If that happens I will apologise again for a bad tip as I apologise now for what has happened. I am sorry. If it is any consolation, if this goes to zero I am kissing goodbye to £37,000. But that is not a given…

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: is Big Sofa fecked and why - after 4 years of losses - Virgin really should be

Two house keeping matters. First please send Darren pictures of the view from your window & your work space during the lockdown to provide a daily distraction. Darren has kicked off the series with a snowy scene from his Canadian bolt-hole HERE.  Second please do offer nominations for the rogue AIM & Standard List directors. If you are afraid of libel just nominate a name & company and Nigel and I will do the rest in a song & dance presentation on May 8. Details and nominations are HERE. In today’s Bearcast I look at the demise or otherwise of Carluccio’s, Virgin Airlines and Big Sofa (BST) and perhaps of the AIM casino itself.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: my distraction from the stockmarket crash is working out my odds of dying from coronavirus

It is a happy game which I have discussed with a couple of listeners. Anyhow, it just shows how data can be interpreted in so many ways. I am, you may be pleased, or maybe distressed, to hear taking steps tpo improve my chances. I then discuss the market crash and how it affects different classes of shares – the issue for us all is not whether our investments are cheap but will the equity in them survive? If the answer is YES then I suspect they are now cheap. If NO well then they are still expensive. I discuss Optibiotix (OPTI), Bidstack (BIDS), Versarien (VRS), Big Sofa (BST), Big Dish (DISH), Restaurant Group (RTN), Ascent Resources (AST), City Centre Pubs (CTC) and also why gold and gold shares are not soaring. Fear not, Malcolm Burne has the experience and the answer. They will.

I had a long chat with Lucian Miers who is right now in Cambodia ( cue cheap Gary Glitter jokes from morons on ADVFN). We discussed coronavirus and the state of the markets. What to buy in the FTSE 100 and his shorts: De la Rue (DLAR), Versarien (VRS), Easyjet (EZJ), IQE (IQE), Apple, Tesla and Purplebricks (PURP) and also the ethics of bailouts and what Governments will be allowed to do., I also comment on Finablr (FIN) and panic selling in Big Sofa (BST)

Tip of the year update Big Sofa - corporate action on the Streets of San Francisco

I fear that many readers will be too young and will not remember the Streets of San Francisco with Michael Douglas and Karl Malden. Please look it up on google, it was fabulous. But my reference is not to an era when cops could beat a confession out of a suspect rather than spend their working lives undergoing diversity training, but to one of my tips of the year, Big Sofa (BST).

Then I out Big Sofa's (BST) new customer. I look at Cabot Energy (CAB) as it dissembles again. Big Sofa – dismal results and placing at just 3p. Roll call of shame

Tom Winnifrith writes: Firstly an apology from us. Big Sofa (BST) has been a very poor tip - as big investors in the IPO we share your pain and - justifiable - anger.  We apologise for believing numerous things said by CEO Simon Liddington. I have just emailed him and called him, to his face rather than behind his back, a “corporate wanker” for reasons I shall explain below. He should resign at once allowing newly appointed CCO Kirsty Fuller to take charge. Liddington is not fit for purpose and I am sorely tempted to go to the forthcoming EGM and tell him that, once again, to his face and demand he goes.

Tom Winnifrith's Bearcast: Big Sofa's boss Liddington is a corporate wanker who should be fired

I have told this to Simon Liddington to his face but my comments merit a wider audience. I apologise for a dire share tip. I have lost £40,000 myself on Big Sofa (BST) and I must take blame for my own decisions. But I also have words for Arden Partners but the buck stops with the pathetic failure Liddington who MUST GO NOW! Tom Winnifith Bearcast - Will the Lombard crew be prosecuted for fraud & I'd rather not write in ignorance like Cynical Bear

It is a day off from training, after yesterday's ten mile walk. My 75 year old coach, Brian Basham, says I must rest my muscles. I restart again tomorrow but how about you donate a tenner to a great cause and sponsor me HERE? Meanwhile i discuss Cynical Bear's latest piece written in ignorance on Big Sofa (BST). He might be right and I may be wrong. So far he has called it right. But what we do know is that he is guessing and writing in ignorance, I'd rather not do that. Then I look at fund managers making pathetic excuses for their own failure over Persimmon (PSN). Finally after today's shocking Lombard (LRM) expose HERE I ask will the authorities finally hold individuals to account to show they really want to stamp out fraud.

Buy Big Sofa at 22.5p - target 60p

When this share tip appeared on FivefreeShareTips yesterday the shares were 20.125p to buyur readers got the best deal. Do not miss out on our next tips emailed direct to you: register now HERE. But at 22.5p to buy Big Sofa (BST) still is stunningly cheap. Here is why...

Okay three disclosures first. One: we own a shed load of these shares. Second they have not exactly flown since the IPO via a reversal at 17p. And third there has been a bit of slippage in hitting targets ( four or five months) and a £1.4 million placing at 18.5p was not exactly what the share price doctor ordered. However this stock is going to fly. My target is for it to almost treble, well before Christmas 2018.
