I expect nothing else after my letter earlier. It wont stop me writing about Amaroq (AMRQ) or buying more shares but I expect to be cold shouldered. Talking of Charles Archer I look at Defence Holdings (ALRT) and just how soon it needs a bailout placing. Then I consider Blackbird (BIRD), Union Jack Oil (IJO), Jarvis Securities (JIM) and the IT illiterate Lucian Miers.

I start with Prospex (PXEN), Charles Archer and Amaroq (AMRQ). Then it is Blackbird (BIRD), a detailed look at Mindflair (MFAI) where a placing today makes no sense to me at all. I really do not get it. Finally the scourge of forward selling, Predator (PRD) and a real challenge to the FCA.

30 years without a profit. More than two decades of that on the AIM casino and Blackbird (BiRD) really is in last chance saloon. As I have noted many times before its fundamental problem is that customers do not want to pony up for its technology in a material way. For any business that is a fundamental flaw. It said in May that it had “no current plans” to raise cash but my Winnmaths tells me that it will run out if money in H1 2027. And having to do yet another bailout placing would surely demand that a head needs to roll after that May non denial denial.

Founded just under 30 years ago and listed for almost a quarter of a century Eden Research (EDEN) battles with Blackbird (BIRD) for the title of AIM’s most jam tomorrow stock. Eden has only ever once turned an accounting profit for any half year and that was a result of a Panama Pump accounting fraud. It has now managed to send well over £40 million to money heaven, including the costs of sending me a stream of lawyers letters for exposing its naughtiness back in 2005. Today the snake in the garden of Eden speaks with a forked tongue as a new joint broker is appointed.

Folks who have never run a company perhaps might not understand that changing your cost base, that is something largely achieved by sacking folks cannot be achieved just like that. By the time you have gone through a consultation process, following the letter of the law and then paid off the folks you are sacking you should assume that you will have paid out about half of your projected annual cost saving.

I am sorry to sound a bit like a football yob but West Ham’s storming start to the season brings out the worst in me. Especially when Malcolm’s oft loved up Blackbird (BIRD) has just served up such utterly piss poor interims. As ever with this “licensor, developer and seller of the market-leading cloud video editing platform” it is all jam tomorrow but cold cabbage water today. If Blackbird is the market leader God only knows how its less “successful” competitors survive.

For almost two years my old friend Malcolm Stacey has been recommending that you buy shares in Blackbird (BIRD). Back in May 2021 the shares were c35p. Today – after more bad news – they are 7p. I warned explicitly HERE that Malcolm should walk away, I still think that he should.
