Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Gotcha Alien Metals!

I start with Code First Girls, the BBC and why birds don’t do computing. Then it is on to Alien Metals (UFO) , insider dealing, a Gotcha moment for me and another cash crisis just after Christmas, Tern (TERN) Jim Nominees (JIM), Eden Research (EDEN) and how Jo Hart at Midas should apologise for being played and Wilko and its demise

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: a lawyer writes to me re Bidstack and my comments on note 18

In today’s Bearcast I discuss Piers Pottinger of the fraud MySquar (MYSQ) infamy, Parkmead (PMG), Bidstack (BIDS) and Invinity Energy Systems (IES) and why I’d not buy today’s Midas tip and the seedy ramping by The Monkey.

Eden Research – a ramp that started with a bent Midas share tip

I flagged up that shocking journalism of eight days ago by Jo Hart of the Midas column HERE. But so far her call looks inspired and I look like a schmuck who has received numerous lawyers letter from Eden Research (EDEN) for exposing its numerous historic frauds. Oddly it never went beyond the “bully and harass” stage.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: the mystery of the Midas Harland and Wolff share tip

I start with a bit about weather, snow rain and drought. Then gold vs bitcoin, Enwell (ENW), Ferrexpro (FXPO), Harland & Wolff (HAWL), Argo Blockchain (ARB), Powerhouse Energy (PHE) and Pantheon Resources (PANR) before ending with Vast Resources (VAST) where a placing at 0.1p is surely being attempted after today’s incomplete news.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: The Corruption of the Mainstream Financial Press

I start with news of a washing panic at the Greek Hovel. Then I look at why the mainstream financial press are part of the problem not the solution to stockmarket over-promotes and indeed outright criminality. In the podcast I look specifically at The Times on Neil Woodford and at The Sunday Times on Hollywood Bowl (BOWL) and Midas in the Mail on Sunday on the IPO of AJ Bell (AJB)

Midas can you please advise your poor readers to sell Optibiotix every day?

Amazed to find that one of her share tips had actually gone up, Jo Hart of the Midas column In the mail on Sunday  advised the poor saps who follow her to top slice or sell Optibiotix (OPTI) on Sunday. Just as a buy note from Ms Hart is seen by most folks as a sure sign that a PR puff campaign is underway and that you should sell at once, the Midas sell stance seems to have pushed the shares ever higher as the chart below demonstrates. Yes £1 hit again, another case of ouzo Cynical Bear needs to send me. I discussed why I’d not be selling at this price as I expect fireworks soon HERE. Meanwhile…

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: David Lenigas needs to sort out his story on twitter - was he a UKOG placing insider or not?

First of all thanks for all the kind comments on the Woodlarks walk. The final photos and my final thoughts are HERE. It is not too late to donate HERE and that is what David Lenigas should do now as he gets his twitter knickers in a twist over his pre-placing tweets on UK Oil & Gas (UKOG). He now says on twitter he was an insider -in the US that would be a perp walk admission. The shameless old ramper is now batting for Angus Energy (ANGS). Elsewhere I cover Optibiotix (OPTI) and the odd Midas call, Wolf Minerals (WLFE), N4 Pharma (N4P), Arden Partners (ARDN) and Goldplat (GDP). Back to Woodlarks: next year I seek volunteers to join the 4 rogue bloggers. I now have 4 (PR genius Steffi, daughter Olaf, my pal the Euro loon Jonathan Price and Steve Moore), if you are up for it email [email protected]

BREAKING: Purplebricks - bogus internet reviews on Trustpilot as it launches in the USA

A questionable business model, shocking revelations on Watchdog, very murky management CVs exposed HERE, a complete lack of profits, a sky high valuatione, endorsements from shareholders "nomates" Neil Woodford and Roger Lawson as well as being tipped in the Godawful Midas Column in today's MoS- what could possibly go wrong for Purplebricks (PURP)? To justify its most recent keep the lights on fund raise it had to promise a new expansion strategy. And so on Friday it announced a US Launch. Natch it starts off with patently bogus internet reviews as you can see below. The Yanks are so dumb they will not notice will they?

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: An apology to Jo Hart of Midas, Cloudtag to be reported to FCA for lying to or misleading punters 4 days before placing

I start with an apology to Ms Jo Hart of Midas in the Daily Mail who I termed a silly witch who shames our profession last week. She is, in fact, clearly the world's greatest tipster for today she has lavished praise on a stock we own shed loads of- Concepta (CPT). I end with a note that I have put my daughter straight on Donald Trump HERE. The bu;t of the podcast discusses bigger fool investing with reference to Cloudtag (CTAG) and I explain why Cynical Bear was far too kind on the POS company earlier today and why I am reporting Cloudtag and its Nomad Cairn to the regulators for either lying to investors or misleading them in a material way four days before a bailout placing.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast 3 January - reviewing the Midas tips of the year 2016

The share tips of the year from Joanne Hart in the Mail on Sunday Midas column are interesting. I look back on the days when I worked with Jo and then review the three tips: Allied Minds (ALM), Elegant Hotels (EHG) and Telford Homes (TEF) which I kind of think are all macro calls as much as company specific ones.
