I do not believe that Advanced Oncotherapy (AVO) will ever generate a cent of positive free cashflow as the demand for the proton therapy services it will offer at some point in 2023 is, in my view, already fully catered for with existing capacity. Others, notably a fund management firm run by a chap who looks remarkably like Daddy Pig, father of Peppa, disagree but what we might agree on its that, until late 2023, there is no doubt that Advanced will continue to guzzle cash. Which makes the next bailout placing only a matter of time.

I shall not name the Parish as that would be unfair on a female vicar who was enthusiastic and welcoming and on a large congregation of good folk but the service we attended on Easter Sunday morning was not one for the traditionalists, that is to say me. Dr Johnson would, no doubt, have viewed it as evidence that his famous bon mot on a women preaching was bang on the money.

The City of my birth contains more than its fair share of deluded lefties who worship at the altar of political correctness while singing the praises of the great Money Tree in the sky. They may not be bad folks but they are fools and their sanctimony drips out in a most annoying fashion.
And so this week the Oxford University Press announced that henceforth it would not be showing images of pigs or sausages lest it offend Muslim readers. How many Muslims were offended by a picture of Peppa or Winnie the Pooh’s little pal? Sod all of course. The middle class lefties probably know very few Muslims. The Muslims live in the poorer bits of East Oxford, the folks at the OUP wouldn’t dream of crossing over Magdalen bridge and leaving leafy West Oxford.
