Gold To Bounce to $4960 and still see $6400 this year

Ross Norman of Metals Daily is one of the saner and more sober of ther gold gurus and so I trust his judgment. After Friday’s bloodbath in gold, many were poredicting another grim day today. But after an early sell off gold is, as I write, actually up slightly at $4785. Norman wrote first thing today:
Gold was clearly significantly over-extended to the upside and had fallen victim to a self-fuelling speculative frenzy with momentum feeding upon itself. Yes, hindsight is a beautiful thing.

Video: Ross Norman on the gold sell off and where next for 2026

Apparently, in terms of gold price forecasts, Ross Norman of Metals Daily is the best forecaster among the experts. The worst, of course, is the FT which praised Gordon Brown for selling at the bottom, terming gold a “barbarous relic.” The FT has today stated that the gold bull market is over which is great news for we bulls. Meanwhile Ross has a different take as you can see below.

UBS – gold could hit $4,000 this year but target is $3,700

So it is not only folks living in Montana log cabins and existing on a diet of baked beans while ensuring they are fully stocked up with ammo, books by Ayn Rand and Ron Paul DVDs who reckon that gold is heading to $4,000. While Dominic Frisby is sidling up to yet another young lady in a trendy London Bar to ask her if she knows how many bitcoin he owns

Gold to peak at $2,300 this year, Palladium to dump again: Ross Norman’s precious metals forecasts

Ross used to run Sharps Pixley and now runs MetalsDaily.com. He is a thoroughly goo bloke and really knows his onions. What follows are his precious metals forecasts for 2024 and unlike some f the more enthusiastic commentators, Nigel you know who I am talking about he is bullish but in a sober and considered way. Certainly, there are no predictions of the sort of fireworks needed to get the juniors racing away. The great man opines:

Tom Winnifrith Video Shareshow No 18: A mining stock I've called wrong twice in 5 weeks plus Ross Norman with his gold, silver & PGM targets

And now from Wales, by just 30 yards, it is my new weekly video show. This costs 99p per episode, and you can either listen to, or watch, some sparky interviews with  Tony Manini of Asiamet (ARS) which, I am starting to think, I have called wrong twice in 5 weeks and then gold guru Ross Norman on where the precious metals are going this year. As a Jubilee Metals (JLP) shareholder his biggest call is the most exciting for me. As ever, on the macro view and on bitcoin, Ross is brilliant. Then from me I discuss where UK small cap shares will go in the current climate. You can access the show HERE

The macro view on PGM's and Lithium

As a still loyal shareholder in Jubilee Metals (JLP), notwithstanding its penny share spiv Chairman, I take a keen interest in PGM prices where, my instinct, is that the outlook is very bright indeed. It is something I shall be chatting to Ross Norman about on video next week. Anyhow, in that context I thought you might enjoy this detailed note on PGM & Lithium prices from broker Fox Davies.
