Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - I am utterly fecked off with everyone

I am not writing much today as I am 100% fecked off with everyone especially Ben Turney, Jason Drummond and lyin' George Osborne. Instead I finished my olive pruning. I think I am going to quit writing and become a full time olive pruner. I discuss Teathers Financial (TEA), the Brexit vote, Photo-Me (PHTM), Chemring (CHG), Churchill Mining (CHL), xCite Energy (XEL) and dog spreadbetting waste of space London Capital (LCG)

Set to Lose my ETX Christmas Trading Challenge with Steve Moore – stopped out on Cupid

I have a bad feeling that it will be me rather than my young apprentice sending a £50 donation to Woodlarks as a result of losing our Christmas spread betting challenge. The force is not with me on this one.

My Christmas ETX Spreadbetting Challenge with Steve Moore – Trade 6 (Range Resources)

Do I think Range Resources (RRL) is overvalued ? Yes. Where are the shares going short term? I am not sure.

Not only are the markets in a fizzy mood making any short dangerous but from what I gather the company might just announce that it is ready to expand its Trinidad operations thanks to a new loan facility and/or it might actually sell its US assets. Either could see the shares spike short term.

Both are ifs not whens and I would certainly not regard this stock as cheap. But I am ahead on this short trade and so why not bank a gain. I am buying back Range to close at 1.356 and so have netted a massive profit of £2.32 on this trade.

That will assist me slight in my little pre-Christmas contest with Steve Moore. Whoever makes the most/loses the least will not send a cheque for £50 to Woodlarks. Any profits either of us make will also go to Woodlarks.

If you want to trade small caps like Range most spreadbetting firms won’t let you do it. ETX will. That is why we have partnered up with them.

If you open an account with them before Friday you will get a free £500 to trade with. You can open that account HERE

Open your spreadbetting account with our partner ETX ( as I have done) and get up to £500 free – offer ends November 30th

We are approached by all sorts of spread-betting firms to partner up with them. After one not so great experience I am very picky about who we deal with. And so I am delighted to say that we have kissed the frogs and without reservation teamed up with ETX.

I have opened an account ( for a Christmas trading challenge with Steve Moore) and you too can do so here

6 Key Investment Lessons for us all from the London Capital debacle

And so the multiple potential bidders for spreadbetting form London Capital (LSE:LCG) walked away last week. The shares duly crashed and now trade at 30.5p valuing London at £16.2 million, a discount to net cash. Or is it?  Just a few points from this sorry saga emerge and perhaps offer lessons elsewhere.

1. I called it right. It happens now and again.
