Letter to Nikhil Rathi, Head of the FCA: is lying by quoted companies acceptable?

I have dropped a note to Nikhil Rathi, CEO of the FCA, asking if he regards lying in an RNS in a market his organization regulates as acceptable. You would have thought that the answer is “No” but the ack of action to correct the Satsuma (SATS) lying suggests otherwise.

Register for 5PM zoom seminar on Woodford, the FCA’s (manifest) failings with the TTF and Tom Winnifrith

I seem no longer to be persona non gata with the Transparency Task Force and so will be doing a 20 minute session tonight at 5 PM on a zoom meeting of the “Victims of Pension and Investment Scandals” group where I am covering the FCA’s failures over disgraced Neil Woodford. I hope to broaden this out to cover a couple of other recent events showing just how utterly useless the FCA is but will be swinging my bat at a couple of other targets if allowed.

Three admin matters: Who hates me this much? Next Wednesday at virtual Westminster and I have not reported Georgina to the FCA, guess who has!

Firstly, as you may have noticed we are suffering a DOS attack for the second day running. Darren’s Mickey Mouse/Mark Carney alarm clock finally went off at about 10 AM Canada time and he has now put up defences but it means things can run more slowly. Somebody out there hates ShareProphets or, more probably, me. Is it an Islamist offended by my support of Israel or a fraudster or fraudster fan boy? I do not know. But as reader Chris says in an email to myself and Darren on this matter:

Julie Meyer has lost her MBE, now Neil Woodford must be stripped of his CBE after FCA ban and fine - letter from TTF

The real scandal of today's FCA ruling is that it claims to be fining disgraced fund manager £46 milion of his c£100 million "winnings" but in reality it will only get £6 million as I showed here. But there are other things that need to happen. News that Julie Meyer and a bunch of sex offenders had lost their gongs on Friday shows that honours can and will be removed. So what about the CBE given to Neil in 2013 by his chum Call Me Dave Cameron. The Transparency Task Force has today, again, written to the Honours Forfeiture Committee requesting that disgraced Woodford lose his gong in light of the FCA sanction. The letter is below.

A major article for the Transparency Task Force Woodford session to discuss today – its from the FT!

As you know I got disinvited from speaking at the TTF symposium taking place today which aims to discover what went wrong with Neil Woodford and how to stop it happening again. As the one journalist who did expose Woodford from 2015 onwards, one point I wanted to make was that the corruption of the deadwood press as an enabler of fraud was an issue but that was going to make the chap from the FT a bit cross.  So here below, is an article from the FT in December 2017 for the establishment arse lickers at the TTF to consider. You will see it is branded as among “FT’s personal finance highlights of 2017.”
