Amaroq (AMRQ) states it “is pleased to announce the completion of its 2026 resource drilling programme at the Nanoq Gold Project in South Greenland, alongside successful metallurgical test work results of Nanoq mineralisation”. The details show why it is pleased.

The former ramped up hostilities in Iran over the weekend so spiking crude creating a fear that base rates would have to be hiked to combat oil price driven inflation. The latter suggested rates might go up to combat inflation so from Friday to Tuesday night gold tanked and Amaroq (AMRQ) shares fell back.

My old pal Ms. Hart has a special feature in today’s Mail on Sunday.on six stocks to “turbocharge your portfolio”. I will not deprive the wretched Mail by revealing the other 5 but one is Amaroq(AMRQ). Natch any endorsement is welcome but I am not sure about Ms. Hart’s maths.

Nomad and broker Cavendish takes an unusual approach to valuing Amaroq (AMRQ) looking at what a predator would pay. Since I regard a bid as almost inevitable if the gold price behaves itself that is not too daft. On that basis it says that its target for the shares, at 105.5p, is 205p. But critically, as you can see below, that is on Nalunaq alone! As a clear pathway to other mines going onstream, which can be developed using internally generated cashflows, becomes apparent that valuation will only head one way… and fast.

The note is below and as ever I regard most broker notes as not worth a lot. But have a read. I think the target is unambitious and here’s why.

I deal with D&D's latest outburst of Amaroq (AMRQ) Derangement Syndrome, discuss the MRE at Nalunaq, Nanoq, Black Angel, the joint venture and explain how cashflows will ramp up massively over the next 30 months. I discuss the FTSE 250. And explain why I see the shares at least doubling before I turn 61 but how they could actually treble. And thus I am considering top slicing Legal & General (LGEN) to buy more Amaroq

For me there is just one negative but you may view it as a positive. There are many positives. The Capital Markets Day presentation is below. I offer a few thoughts.

Should I have sought written approval from the puritan lynching mob lead by Ed from Islington or the pesky rodent before buying these shares? As it happens I flagged up how cheap they were in light of its latest news BEFORE buying this morning so I disadvantaged myself.

Okay, I am biased. At 91p I am more than 100% ahead and Amaroq (AMRQ) is my biggest holding but I am not selling as a) I want to maintain exposure to gold and b) I think the shares are very low risk and offer massive upside. My own view is that the company will get taken out at 150p+ next year as gold majors engage in frantic M&A activity. But I am happy to hang on for several years for fundamentals to drive them even higher. If you doubt me, CEO Eldur Olaffson knocks it out of the park in this video out yesterday flagged up by reader K. The key takeaways are:
