In the week that David Cameron decided that the middle classes deserve to be taxed twice so that the State can pay for care that folks are capable of affording themselves we have to honour the leader of the SDP, oops I meant Conservative Party. All he needs to do now is to start an illegal war or two and accept some dodgy donations to party coffers and he would be the true heir to Tony Blair.

I gather that “Don’t blame me I voted for David Davis” T-shirts are now a collector’s item. As folks increasingly wonder what exactly is the point of the Conservative Party I ask you to offer up captions for this picture. The winner will receive an “It’s Time to Leave” T-shirt which you can also order (along with the mug & hoodie) here.

For what it is worth my caption entry is:

The man on the right (Blair): “When I was Prime Minister I ran up record deficits, got screwed by the EU, nailed the hard working middle classes, allowed the welfare state to mushroom, uncontrolled immigration and destroyed the armed forces.”

The man of the left (Call Me Dave): Me too but I didn’t need two terms to do it.

If you can do better then post your entries in the comments section below.
Last week I asked you for captions for this picture of the liar and criminal Chris Huhne (ex) MP and a man who drives even faster once a year but does not get his missus to pick up the points.

After much deliberation the independent judge has awarded the price of a Chris Huhne Liar! Criminal! T-shirt to Stephen Peel for:

Thanks for the iPad Santa. (You left the receipt in the box right?)

Stephen, drop me an email at [email protected] and I will post your prize onwards in due course.

FREE Podcast: ShareProphets Radio Edition FOURTEEN with Tom Winnifrith: The A to Z of the Rise and fall of Neil Woodford

There are  no guests in this  week’s show which is sponsored by Open Orphan PLC (ORPH). it is just me, at the end of a momentous day in the world of financial services. First up I discuss Thomas Cook (TCG) and grandstanding by limp dick MPs, executive greed, the failings of NEDs and fund managers and the heroin that is debt. Then the vast bulk of the show is devoted to Neil Woodford. What went right and what went wrong and why? Why the FCA is cuplable and why Woodford should go to jail. What were the warning signs everyone bar this website ignored? Who else is to blame? Why Hargreaves Lansdown (HL.) must be broken up. What will happen to each of the 3 vehicles Woodford was fired from or quit yesterday and how much cash investors wil get back.If you like this and can’t wait seven days for more of the same  and are tired of being a cheapskate you should listen to my Bearcast every day.
