I hate myself for thinking about Coulter’s Law 14 hours after the Huntingdon Attack

Nine folks are seriously ill in hospital after two men went on a knife rampage on a Doncaster to London train last night. 14 hours after the train stopped at Huntingdon and the cops moved in we are yet to be told anything about the two men now in custody. I hate myself this morning for thinking about Coulter’s Law.

It is not actually a law just a saying of the right wing American commentator Ann Coulter, from a 2015 tweet: “ The longer it takes the news media to identify a mass shooter ( or perpetrator in a high profile crime), the less likely it is to be a white male.”

After the murder of the dog walker by an Afghan migrant last week and a string of other crime cases involving migrants the mood music in Britain is pretty awful. Most crimes in Airstrip One are committed by home grown white people. But certain immigrant groups ( notably Afghans, Eritreans and Sudanese) are disproportionately right at the top of the crime tables by capita by a huge margin. That is an uncomfortable fact that one cannot discuss in polite society. The failure to discuss it makes ordinary plebs just feel more angry after each horrible attack.

This morning politicians across the spectrum are tweeting about how their prayers are with the victims. Most of these politicians are Godless souls, the sort of folks who in two months will be wishing us “Happy Holidays” so as not to offend, and their words, trotted out so often, are empty and hollow.

Given that my in laws are immigrants and have contributed massively to the UK I really find the current climate and groundswell of division very uncomfortable. I worry for my mixed race kids. As such I hate myself for thinking about Coulter’s Law but fear that it will come good yet again today.
