Sunday saw the the start of the creation of two Christmas puddings. I will use one at the Christmas Carols party we host and the other on Christmas Day. The recipe was based on a Delia one but with a bit of forced improvisation.
Running out of breadcrumbs there are some oats in there. And having no stout or barley wine I used a third of a can of alcohol free Guinness left by a guest at Sharestock. But I “fortified” it with extra brandy and home made rhubarb and ginger vodka. Home grown apples had survived on my rack to add flavour, we all stirred and all four of us made secret wishes.
Today, as I hammer away at my keyboard, the two puddings are steaming on the Aga, the suet melting and holding the other ingredients together, and both should be done at about 10 PM. The advent calendar, this year with both chocolates for Jaya and bible verses for Joshua is here. Next up it is starting the logistical process of ordering and distributing cheeses to friends and family ahead of the big day as well as starting to assist Santa by accumulating small gifts and to think about larger gifts for others. Christmas is almost upon us
