Photo Article from the Welsh Hovel: Christmas tree is up, I caved

The Mrs and kids would, if they had their way, start putting up Christmas decorations some time in September when Tesco starts selling mince pies. I look back to my childhood, with Dad bringing un a tree from the garden for us all to decorate as we listened to Carols from Kings College Cambridge on Christmas Eve.

But such was the nagging that I relented and bought a new tree yesterday which is now up. Tonight’s treat will be for the family to decorate it. This time next week friends will be here sitting around the tree for our annual Carol singing party. I updated the sheets yesterday adding ina tune from my youth, The Sussex Carol

Meanwhile I have now ordered the ducks (one for Christmas day and one for a second Christmas meal with my older kids), more brandy was last night poured on both puddings I made and as each day goes on another couple of presents are ordered. The kids open an advent calendar each day, one with both bible verses and chocolates. The countdown is underway.
