The political and media class, the GroupThink led by the BBC and the Guardian, are telling you that raging wildfires across Europe are a sign of global warming. Unfortunately there is some rather awkward data.
Here in Greece there have been fewer wildfires than for many summers after a wet spring and May. and a cooler than normal June and July. It rained heavily last week. So I guess the warming is not totally global.
In fact, as you can see below, across Europe the level of wildfires YTD is the lowest for 14 years. Lower even than 2025 itself the lowest for 14 years. So much for inexorable global warming causing record wildfires.
