Merry Christmas to readers of this site from myself and the family: maybe I should work for the NHS, here's hoping for a CofE Christmas miracle

There is no rest for the wicked. Whilst Labour MPs flock to X to say how they think that NHS staff doing a couple of shifts over the next week deserve a gold medal as well as another year of bumper pay rises, like many small business owners I shall be working every day throughout the Christmas break, even the 25th, on the ShareProphets.com website I run.

Photo Article from the Welsh Hovel: Now Father Christmas will be happy and may come back next year

The kids know that for Father Christmas to bring them presents rather than a lump of coal in 2026 they will have to be good. Otherwise Daddy will send Santa an email to flag up any naughtiness. But we also have to make sure Santa enjoys his lightening visit to the last house before the border with England this year.

I stormed out of Midnight Mass in Gresford, may God forgive me

However much the Church of England or Church of Wales infuriates me and tests my faith I have always attended Midnight Mass at Christmas. “Yea Lord we Greet You born this happy morning” I sing loudly and walk out into the cold night air filled with optimism and with my weak faith replenished. Gradually my own failings and the miserable state of the world weaken all those positive feelings and then it is Christmas again. This year I did not leave after the last carol I stormed out and I hope that our sparky new vicar understands why.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: On the phone today to a woman in floods of tears this Christmas Eve

In this bearcast I look at the role of NEDs and their failings in a bull market. that is a general point I then discuss the NEDs at Woodford Patient Capital Trust (WPCT) and how they MUST be replaced at once. The COI are surely too great. I then discuss a woman reduced to tears by charlatan and snake oil salesman Darren Winters this Christmas Eve.This story will horrify you. I then discuss Christmas. Whatever you do, however you spend the day I hope that it is in some way joyous. That magical moment at Midnight Mass as you sing "Yea, Lord, we greet Thee, born this happy morning" and you realise it is Christmas Day is now only hours away.

Midnight mass - I leave feeling good about the world, then I talk to Uncle Chris

On Christmas Day I chatted to Uncle Chris Booker. A wide ranging chat but we cannot help but conclude that at a geo-political level the world is going ever more badly wrong. Price Charles this populism is a real danger and must be fought. Quite right you unelected hereditary multi millionaire, lets pursue policies that favour the 1% and screw the masses. Let's stick with policies that, for a reason that a patrician fool might not grasp, are not popular in any way. As a life long republican I really do hope that the Queen lives forever.
