Merry Christmas to readers of this site from myself and the family: maybe I should work for the NHS, here's hoping for a CofE Christmas miracle

There is no rest for the wicked. Whilst Labour MPs flock to X to say how they think that NHS staff doing a couple of shifts over the next week deserve a gold medal as well as another year of bumper pay rises, like many small business owners I shall be working every day throughout the Christmas break, even the 25th, on the ShareProphets.com website I run.

In the face of a stalling economy running any small business is a struggle. But we must keep going to keep our staff in employment and to pay ever greater taxes to the State. Like many if not most small businesses we could not afford bumper pay rises this year, in fact there have been none, instead we invested in adding new staff to the payroll so creating more wages for the Government to tax. But we have paid more tax so that public sector workers get inflation busting hikes.

Nobody thanks we evil folks in the private sector. They should. Spare a though for all those evil capitalists working this Christmas just to keep their businesses afloat.

On that rather gloomy and miserable note may I wish all readers of thus website, even if they are a striking Junior Doctor or a Labour MP, a very merry Christmas .

As you can see below, the tree is up here and more presents have arrived for my 5 and 9 year old kids since that photo was taken from their doting grandparents. Tonight we will watch on the TV my eldest son sing at Kings Collage Cambridge ( BBC 2 at 5.45) . My younger son will attend his first midnight mass with a father hoping for no lectures on the evil Israelis or about how Jesus was a Palestinian Refugee. In the Church of England these days one hopes to be spared a Guardian editorial but if you are it truly is a Christmas miracle.

Happy Christmas.
