Tennis shows it cares only about money as drugs cheat Sharapova returns in triumph

Women's tennis has been lacking something for the past couple of years... that is to say a woman who is not only incredibly good at hitting the ball but is also jaw droppingly good looking. The problem is that Maria Sharapova who fits the bill on both counts was caught cheating by using a performance enhancing drug.

Serena Williams - why is it that you cant condemn cheats in your sport?

It is bad enough that Serena Williams shows rank hypocrisy on the matter of equal pay in tennis. She also diminishes her status as a great athlete by her refusal to condemn a proven drugs cheat, that is to say Maria Sharapova.

Sharapova faces a ban for tennis after she was caught using a substance which from January of this year was banned. Sharapova has been using it for ten years and claimed that it was only administered on medical advice. Sadly

Serena Williams hand over your prize money to the disabled champs you old bigot

Serena Williams is an amazing athlete but as she led the charge to get some sexist old coot booted out of tennis for saying women atheletes were overpaid she stands guilty of rank hypocrisy.

Five Photos of Women Role Models to Infuriate hypocrite feminists on International Womens day

Living with a Guardian reading sociology lecturer I need no reminding that it is International Women's day. Natch I gave the Mrs a thankful pay on the backside after she cooked my breakfast and reminded her that my new West Ham top was a bit dirty and that she should not forget it when putting the clothes wash on. But how to celebrate this great event? With some photos of women from around the world who show that there are no glass ceilings, who demonstrate how powerful women can be, who are role models for our daughters and who will infuriate every feminist in town. Let's start with some athletes.

Oh bloody hell then - come on Andy Murray

Andy, you were a miserable git desplaying all that is worst about Scottish chippiness as a young man. You still strike me as a pretty dreary fellow and your cliche ridden post match interviews are really truly unbearable. But you do seem less miserable these days and actually almost quite a nice guy.

Crying last year was a masterstroke as you would have to have a heart of stone not to feel for you. And as such, although I'd rather watch paint dry than sit through a tennis match ( even if involves some delightful young ladies carefully chosen by John Inverdale),  I truly wish you the very best of luck today as you seek to end the post 1936 Wimbledon drought.

As they rarely say where you come from...Best of British to you.

John Inverdale, Women’s Tennis and the disappearing lesbians

Like most folk with the exception of Steve Moore I have zero interest in watching Tennis. If I can summon up the energy the men’s game has more power and skill and is what I would watch if forced. The women’s game? If most of us (men) are honest we watch it if a good looking bird is playing. Even then our attention span is limited.

And that brings me to Ann Jones and the lesbians but first to John Inverdale (the laddish TV presenter) who is in the soup for stating about the new ladies champion:
