On the BBC Radio 4 yesterday, UN spokesman Tom Fletcher claimed that as a result of the evil Israeli blockage of Gaza 14,000 babies would starve to death within 48 hours. The BBC, naturally, offered no push back on this claim initially.
But later in the day it did a fact check and found tat what the UN has actually posted was that, as a result of actions of the wicked Jews, 14,000 babies in Gaza would die from malnutrition over the next year. There are numerous videos showing shops in Gaza packed with food but prices are high as Hamas steals much of the aid coming in to resell. The Israelis could send in more aid, I do not doubt that. So, of course, could the Egyptians but as they are not evil Jews nobody holds them to account. And for what it is worth,,the UN and UNWRA have predicted imminent and widespread famine in Gaza more times since October 7 2022 than I have had inappropriate thoughts about Cheryl Cole. One day a UN prediction on this matter might come true but so far it has been wrong every time.
But the key point here is that Fletcher, a man who has repeatedly defended UNRWA as it was demonstrated that many of its staffers were in Hamas and indeed had allowed Hamas tunnels to built from underneath its premises, made a false claim. Even the BBC is rowing back on that now.
Although Radio 4 presenters were still today claiming that thousands of babies could die very soon according to the UN, on its website the BBC fesses that Fletcher’s claim was a falsehood.
But that has not stopped a large number of Labour, Lib Dem and Green MPs including the Green co leader Carla Denyer as well as charities including Oxfam and Save the Children repeating this blood libel as they demand that Britain stops providing any support at all top Israel. That is how fake news spreads thanks to BBC carelessness.
It is not as if this is an isolated incident. Within the last fortnight Israel bombed the European hospital in Gaza saying that Hamas terrorists were hiding underneath it. It took just a few hours for the BBC Verify Unit and the loathsome Jeremy Bowen to debunk that claim and thus assert that in bombing a hospital the wicked Jews had again committed a war crime.
Within a couple of days the body of Hamas leader Muhammad Sinwar, aka “the shadow” and several other senior Hamas militants had been dragged from a tunnel underneath the hospital so in fact, in using the hospital as a shield, it was Hamas that committed the war crime not Israel. Yet the poison had already seeped out far and wide.
Bowen, the ludicrous and Orwellian Verify Unit, which exposed those of us who, as it now turns out correctly, questioned the utility of masks and social distancing in the Scamdemic, as dangerous right wing conspiracists, fueled the flames of Israelophobia if not outright Jew hatred. Where is the retraction and statement that the war crime here was by Hamas?
