I wrote a damning article today on the ShareProphets website which I run on an Israeli based London listed company Sivota which has wiped out its shareholders. My conclusions about the management were not kind. I prefaced the article with a statement about Israel and it seems that I now face financial ruin from a Mr. Jack Sayell for stating
“I cannot believe that anyone is in any doubt of my 101% support for the only Middle East country which is a democracy and which is a multicultural society where ethnic and religious minorities are not only protected but celebrated. I refer to Israel. My support continues to cost me readers whose anti-semitism gets the better of them”
At a fact based level can anyone name another democracy in the region? Or one where folks who are Jewish, Muslim, Druze, Christian, of African origin or LGBT get to sit in the parliament, vote, fight in the army, play soccer in the national side, sit on a judicial bench and all enjoy equal liberties and where that is celebrated? Of course folks cannot. You do not need to have studied Middle Eastern politics at Oxford as I did to know that!
But I have received an email suggesting that I must be a) a youth on work experience to write this, b) am the only person in England to support Israel and then comes the threat from a man who is not a subscriber but who has a mate who is:
“As you can tell I am completely disgusted and beyond angry that anyone would think it appropriate to publish anything like this in the current climate. I am not going to waste time reading your rag but have asked my colleague to let me know if anything similar appears again and then you will not have to worry about losing subscribers (if you have any left after this) because I will ensure your website is reported to the authorities (who we actually work for) and is taken down.”
There you go. This is tolerant Jack threatening to ruin me financially by getting ShareProphets shut down for the quote higher up this article. Jack appears to claim that he works for the Government or a regulator and so that this is in his power.
At a time when my Jewish friends suffer a massive surge in ani-semitism, something not seen since the 1930s and which makes the need for Israel, a safe space for Jews and Druze) greater than ever, the idea that I will shut up and stop writing about Israel or the evils of anti-semitism because of threat from bastards like Jack Sayell, if that is his real name which I doubt, is for the fairies. I stand with Israel. I stand with the Jewish people and I do so knowing that it has seen some Jew hating bigots cancel their subscriptions to ShareProphets because of what I write.
Jack, and anyone else threatening me for doing so, can go f*ck themselves.
