Photo article from the Welsh Hovel: family blackberry picking by the river Dee

The blackberries by the chapel where the Mrs and Joshua bother God are still a week or two away from being ripe but down by the river in our fields I spotted a big bush full of ripe berries as I mowed the path I have created.

The A team of Joshua and myself started the harvesting and were eventually joined by the Mrs and Jaya. We picked enough to make a large crumble using some of the cooking apples from a tree that has partly fallen down and is now being turned into firewood.

On the river path I have planted apple trees of an early fruiting variety to form a colonade. Well they will in a few years. This is year two and the apples are already more or less ready for harvesting.
