I would not expect the Western Media or idiots like Ed Davey to do the basic number crunching needed to show the import of the statistics just issued by the Hamas run health ministry on deaths in Gaza since the Israeli response to October 7 commenced. But they are devastating and slay the myths, the blood libels pushed relentlessly by almost the entire media and political class.
Normally I do not trust Hamas data as it has a tendency to over-egg the pudding to show the wicked Jews in a bad light but I will on this occasion take the numbers as gospel.
Before we address the Hamas data, folks like Ed Davey, the BBC and channel 4 insist on using the word genocide to describe what is happening in Gaza. They also insist that October 7 was not the start of this genocide but that it has been a long running campaign by Israel. The population of Gaza has gone up by 500% since 1967 when Israel captured the strip from Egypt in a war it did not start. The population has also increased since 2023! This is no genocide.
But what of the claims that Israel is either bombing and shooting indiscriminately or actively targeting women and children. The Hamas data show that to be a lie too. You will see that while only 29.1% of the population of Gaza is men of fighting age ( 16-64), 53.1% of those killed are men of fighting age.
38.8% of Gazans are 15 or under yet only 21.4% of fatalities are from that age bracket. 29.1% of Gazans are women aged 16-64 yet only 20% of casualties are from hat demographic.
One should caveat those numbers in two ways:
* Hamas includes in its ranks young men who are under 16 so just a few of those children killed will be combatants.
* Some of those Gazans killed in Gaza are killed by Hamas for “crimes” such as taking aid from the GHF or being suspected collaborators with the IDF.
But even ignoring those caveats the hard numbers from Hamas itself show clearly that Israel is not targeting women and children nor is it attacking indiscriminately as ghouls like Zara Sultana MP or Channel 4’s Cathy Newman might claim. The facts from Hamas show that is a blood libel. Israel is targeting men and to be specific combatants whether they are dressed in khaki or a press jacket.
All civilian casualties in war are a source of immense regret. But that happens in war. The ratio of civilian casualties to combatants in other conflicts such as Iraq is far worse than what is happening in Gaza. Isreal targets combatants far more carefully than the troops sent into Iraq by the war criminals Blair and Bush.
