Following Paul Stainsby’s court appearance victims of historic sexual abuse at Warwick School are now stepping forward in numbers. Today I have heard from a man who is the sixth victim, of whom I am aware, of music teacher Charles Watmough. And I have also been contacted by a chap in Scarborough where Charlie retired to after Warwick to give private piano lessons to little boys.
The Warwick victim stated:
“The music teacher, Charles Watmough took it upon himself to administer his own corporal punishment as an alternative to the conventionally proscribed disciplinary procedures.
In an isolated incident, he suggested that I accept his ‘slapped wrist’ punishment for a minor infraction which he perceived I had committed. Assuming he was speaking metaphorically, I attended his study wherein he administered an actual corporal punishment.
As an adult, one has a different perspective on a middle-aged man summoning a child to his study to administer a private punishment when the school rules didn’t to my knowledge, allow for such behaviour. He subsequently chastised me for not keeping secret his ‘special dispensation’ – that, in retrospect, seems like the behaviour of a serial transgressor / groomer.
To spell it out, I am raising here my concerns because I fear that he was gaining an unnatural gratification from such behaviour”
Ends
Let’s be clear here. Inter alia, Watmough liked spanking the naked bottoms of young boys.
Will Warwick be shocked by thos? No. Because the OW in question complained in writing 4 years ago. So, Warwick knows about him as well as most if not all of the 5 other victims who have contacted the Police. Perhaps because when parents of one victim complained at the time, Warwick did nothing but instead allowed Watmough to carry on teaching, often in private lessons, it feels some shame. It is still explicitly to admit that other teachers, apart from Stainsby abused boys.
In the end Watmough left to give private lessons in his house in Scarborough to little boys and I am now contacted by a chap in Scarborough who describes Watmough as “colourful.” If anything happened there Warwick is to blame.
Meanwhile the Police decided a few years ago that Watmough, in his sixties, was too old and infirm to stand trial. Bollocks to that. It is not his well being but that of his victims that matters
I am pushing the Police to re-open the case and in light of what I plan to reveal tomorrow about another Warwick school paedophile teacher I hope that they might just join some dots and do that.
