Norfolk council leader Kay Billing picks up allowances of more than fifty grand a year. Her husband made his money in property. The facebook post below indicates that she views poor people with contempt. Kay is the sort of Tory who leaves many of us with a tribal hatred of her party. I have voted Tory on occasion but have done so despite viewing a party containing folks like Kay as a party one should really despise.

Just the other day, as we looked at the vast old 1600s chimney in the study here at the Welsh Hovel, I asked the Mrs if she could go onto the village Facebook page to see if any of the poor people had a young son who could pop around to be sent up to clean it. “Don’t be daft” she replied. “They abolished that sort of thing ages ago”. “Political correctness gone mad”, said I. “Thank God we both voted for Brexit and can scrap these insane rules which deny the children of the poor, here in Wales, a chance to earn a few pennies.”

It is no surprise that the £300,000 a year Guardian columnist Polly Toynbee views yesterday's obesity proposals as a wicked Tory attack on thre poor. In Toynbee's socialist paradise the State would intervene with taxes and advertising bans and every instrument of its control to make poor people less fat. The failure of the Tories to do this clearly shows they want poor people to be fat and to die early. Only someone writing from the rarified airs of a North London mansion or a Tuscan castle could write such tosh. This is vintage Toynbee. She opines:
