This is a truly crowded contest. The absence of photos of kids actually starving to death in Gaza means we are still flooded with Hamas supplied photos of starving kids from Yemen or Syria, AI images or kids with other diseases. Photos the BBC and Western press happily run even after they are shown to be fake. There was the hospital Jeremy Bowen insisted on the BBC that the wicked Jews had bombed killing 500 people. It was, of course, a misfiring Islamic Jihad missile.

We do not know how any of these 250 folk are still alive. Some have been murdered, some have been raped, some are known to being used as a human shield around the rat-hole where Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar is hiding out. My 250 heroes of the year are the around 250 folks men, women, kids, a baby, kidnapped by Hamas on October 7. They have been held in unspeakable conditions and suffer every day. Some have been released in exchange for Palestinian prisoners convicted of terror offences.

As part of my life as an evil capitalist I risked my capital to buy a failing restaurant, worked 70 hour weeks, turned it round so saved a number of jobs. What a fucking bastard I am. How fucking selfish can you be? That restaurant was in Clerkenwell and every May Day the annual Workers March would pass by my front window leaving me gawping in amazement. For starters there were almost no members of the indigenous working class present. Instead the ranks of Kurdish Communists and the oppressed of sun Saharan Africa were swollen by thousands of members of the middle classes.
