Patel bans 3 or more folks from a protest march, now I really can’t call my daughter Priti – this is authoritarian and wrong

The Mrs is set to give birth in nine days and has insisted that we give our daughter, we think it is a girl, an Indian first name. Fair’s fair – Joshua has a Western first name. We do actually have a set of names decided but the shorthand name for Joshua’s little sister has, until now, been Priti, if only to trigger the lefty friends and relatives of the Mrs who seem to dislike the Home Secretary with a passion. But not now …

For it seems that Ms Patel now wishes to ban more than two people from taking part in a protest march. So, under her rulings, if the Mrs, myself and Joshua march up to the village square to protest about that idiot Mark Drakeford shutting the pubs here in Wales, Ms Patel would have the Old Bill arrest us all.

This is incredibly authoritarian and unnecessary and it is all the more so when, as the Daily Mail shows today, the Government has used utterly misleading data to justify the current national lockdown.  However much you may hate the Mail, I suggest you read this article and look at the hard data and Government lies HERE.

A government that behaves in such a way, misleading its citizens to restrict their liberties, is exactly the sort of government that we should be able to protest about. But now, thanks to Priti Patel, we will not be able to do so.

Is the law enforceable? I suggest that it will be enforced on a selective basis. The folks who have protested against lockdown have already been roughed up by the Police for breaking existing laws. The hundreds of folks who protested outside the French embassy last week in support of the right to behead folks who displayed cartoons they do not like broke the same laws. So did the BLM marches and many of the Extinction Rebellion protests of the summer. But the Police and Ms Patel did nothing about any of them.

The suggestion from Ms Patel is horrific as it stands, but do any of us believe that if implemented it will be so on a uniform and equal basis? At every level this stinks. So no more jokes about my daughter being christened Priti. Some things are now best not joked about.
