The BBC creams itself over utterly dishonest Met Office Report on global warming

The BBC’s Radio 4 Today programme is in multiple orgasm mode this morning as its co-religionists at the Met Office have released a report on global warming and it seems we are all going to burn to a crisp here in Airstrip One. The dishonesty behind the headlines is off the scale.

1. There will be a heatwave this weekend with temperatures topping 30 degrees. And this is proof of the global warming that started back in the 70s. Really? Back in 1976 there were 16 days from mid June onwards where recorded temperatures were in excess of 30 degrees. We might just have a few this year. Incidentally temperatures in 1976 were the warmest since 1864 in Aberdeen and since the 1930s elsewhere. So 1976 was cooler than in the pre man made global warming era. Maybe temperatures just go up and down and the Doom Goblin and others have just got this all wrong?

2. The 40 degrees recorded in 2022 will be seen more often in future and that prediction is proof of global warming. That recording of 40.3 degrees was on one day and was taken at RAF Coningsby as jet aircraft took off and landed on its runway. Since jets have only landed at Coningsby since 1953 there is no comparable data for the very warm 1930s and any reading at this site should surely, for obvious reasons, be ignored.

3. Temperatures could at some stage hit 46 degrees in the UK, the same as a summer in Delhi, and that is proof of global warming. Even the Met admits that this particular model is very unlikely to come to pass but it’s a good headline for the BBC anyway. Most of the Met’s long range forecasts have been wildly inaccurate and a forecast from a body with a track record of alarmism and inaccuracy is not proof of anything.

A responsible broadcaster would have flagged up thee matters but the BBC just takes the words of the Met as gospel, terrifying the kids and again showing why it is just not fit for purpose.

The BBC and the Met Office have been captured by extremists pushing an agenda by ignoring inconvenient truths. A reforming Government would surely question why taxpayer cash is spaffed on this Orwellian nonsense but sadly no Government ever dares to challenge this madness.
