Photo Article from the Welsh Hovel - preparing for the arrival of daughter Olaf

She is due for a visit after Christmas and seems to have become ever thirstier since her arrival at Oxford four terms ago. No doubt she will also lead her stepmother astray.

As such I have stocked up with a case of Prosecco and two cases of red wine from Montepulciano – a place I stayed in with Olaf, her mother Big Nose, the late Bill Long and his partner some 16 years ago. I am not sure Olaf remembers that trip but the adults present will never forget it.  Montepulciano is a truly wonderful place.

Olaf has become, like most young folks from Islington, a food freak. That is to say she is a Pescatarian. I am working out how to cater for her but I have, at least, ensured that her main calorific requirements can now be met. In case she is reading this, before she says anything, harder spirits will also be available so there is no need to worry about your breakfast either.
