Photo article: Starting harvesting with the kids at the Welsh Hovel

My little helpers are willing assistants and as well are all now back in Wales there is plenty to harvest as you can see below.

The jam jars are plum and cinnamon. We have done a first plum harvest and that was enough for the jam and to flash freeze a batch for making plum and ginger cakes for Sharestock and the Autumn Birthday season. There is a second harvest planned for this week to make plum ice cream and to flash freeze another batch.

And we also enjoyed the first stuffed marrow of the year plus home grown potatoes. The courgette/marrow/squash crop is excellent. The potatoes are not bad and another task for this coming week is putting out spuds to chit to plant later thus month for a Christmas crop.

We have also harvested a bumper onion crop and today we will also be harvesting blueberries.
