Photo Article: Bonfire Night at the Welsh Hovel, Rachel Thieves up in smoke for a party of 20

A day later the fire is still burning away but last night it roared. Sittng on an old chair was the pumpkin from Halloween, with hair added by Joshua to depict our chancellor Rachel, from accounts, Reeves. It is probably a hate crime but along with a paper marked fake CV she went up in smoke as you can see below.

Halloween Photo Article of angels and a wannabee Rachel Reeves pumpkin at the Welsh Hovel

My health better on one front at least, I took the kids to Tesco to stock up ahead of the bonfire night party. Then I carved the pumpkin as you can see below. Supper was a creamy pumpkin soup with cinnamon. The pumpkin gets another day of life before, tomorrow morning, it is transformed into chancellor Rachel Thieves ahead of a one way trip to the bonfire, fake CV attached.

Who will be Guy on November 2 at the Welsh Hovel?

The tradition already established here is that the pumpkin from Halloween is turned into a head of a “Guy” and burned on the bonfire which, this year, is on November 2. Each year the debate is fierce as to who the Guy will be.

Spotting "winners" with the next Chancellor, Labour's Rachel Reeves

I have already demonstrated that Rachel Reeves MP is perhaps the most economically illiterate person in Halitosis Hall, and that takes some doing. An obsession of politicians is always “picking winners” in the private sector. And so, yesterday, Ms Reeves joined the man who did not prosecute Jimmy Savile, visiting a company I have covered many times before…

Is Rachel Reeves the most economically illiterate politician in Britain?

The shadow chancellor does not seem to appreciate that she can only tax the profits of oil companies on their UK earnings and North Sea Operators already pay 75% tax. As the tweet below somehow she seems to think that adding to that tax will both cure inflation and slash fuel prices. I realise that there are many truly economically illiterate MPs, but this one could be Chancellor of the Exchequer by the end of next year.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: The economic illiteracy of the political class: BP and its $27.6 billion profit

The tweet below is from Labour shadow chancellor Rachel Reeves but I also cite Lib Dem leader Ed Davey for spouting equal tosh this morning. I start with BP (BP.) and windfall taxes. Then it is onto Tintra (TNT) with two more bombshell exposes today. My target price here is now officially 0p. Then it is onto another Dominic White, of the fraud Supply@ME Capital (SYME) infamy, MaxRets Ventures (MAX). En passant I mention DeepVerge (DVRG).
