I hope that by now you have all ordered the last book by my late father, Nobody’s Kingdom, a history of Northern Albania. If not make sure you order today before stocks run out. Only kidding, I realise this is a minority interest. Nobody’s Kingdom is the follow up to Badlands Bordlands which covered southern Albania’s history.
It was the South that first grabbed dad’s attention because it was there where the Nomadic People who he studied, the Vlachs, lived as well as in Greece and southern Yugoslavia, as it was then. Dad visited the south many times and a few years ago media friends of my late step mother, Chuck and Judy, accompanied the two of them and produced a video covering that trip. I have spent some time in that part of the world and it should be on your bucket list especially Butrint which features in the flick and where my own visits and photographs are chronicled here.
Just take a cheap flight to Corfu and the ferry across and you are in another world. Anyhow here is Chuck and Judy’s video. Enjoy.
