Glacial Lake flooding and another #fakenews headline from the BBC

Barely a day goes by without the BBC pushing out some fake news in support of the global warming cult.  The headline below will have grabbed the attention of many. Thanks to academics at Newcastle University, Pravda is able to warn that millions face a new threat, 15 million to be exact could be drowned as glacial lakes burst their banks. Few will bother to read to the end of the story which quantifies the actual threat:

Research shows that an increase in floods which began in the early 20th Century and peaked in the 1970s could be a lagged response to climatic changes in the past. While scientists expect that glacial floods will increase as a result of human-induced climate change, there has as yet been no such increase.

So in fact in this era of global warming which we are all told started in the 1970s there have been far fewer glacial lake floods which is, I guess, a sign of climate change but is certainly a good thing. And while there is no risk now  we should panic kids across the world with a claim that millions face a threat which it is later admitted is not actually a threat now but will be at some point becuase of the same global warming which has stopped such floods for fifty years.

Whatever… the headline wil do enough to reinforce the GroupThink narrative even if it is actually fake news.
