The definition of a bad company is one that can never generate cash – IQE interims

Another set of results comes out from the sheep shagging chip makers at IQE (IQE) and as usual the numbers are piss poor, more cash has been burned and there is warning about current trading. The shares are just 16.4p, having been 174p just under six years ago when folks like Paul Scott and our own Malcolm Stacey were frothing so excitedly about them as I warned and warned again.

IQE, Drew Nelson and the scumbag scallywags at Equities First – another sordid chapter of pretence

Equities First holdings offers a service where CEOs of companies where the CEO knows the stock is going to tank, pledge shares to EFH in return for a loan at c65% of the value of the shares. We exposed this scam back in 2019 when EFH first open up shop in Britain. EFH ALWAYS dumps the shares on day one so locking in a neat 50% profit and when the shares tank the directors are faced with a margin call and default.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast:Tory sleazebag David Williams of Avanti does it again - now 98% vindicated on Arqit

Faking a product demo to gain funding is fraud and Williams boasted about doing that so the Tory scumbag should not threaten me, as he has threatened others, with a lawyers letter for calling that out as an act of fraud. I discuss his antics at Avanti (AVN) and then Arqit Quantum (US:ARQQ) about which I warned at $37.41 on December 3 2021 HERE and at $5.65 on 17 June 2022 HERE. Its shares are now 73 cents but the company is still valued at $90 million. My target is zero. I discuss in detail. Then it is onto IQE (IQE), Mirada (MIRA), Future (FUTR) whose £1.06 billion market cap is a joke. I looked like a right prat on this one for a while but you cannot defy gravity forever. Which brings me to Cineworld (CINE), Cellular Goods (CBX) and today’s total spoof from Chill Brands (CHLL) which the morons have fallen for hook, line and sinker. Do they never go to Companies House? Finally: it is 30 days to Rogue Bloggers for Woodlarks and less than 4% of you have donated. I repeat the Brokerman Dan underpants threat, please do make a donation HERE

£30m bailout at 20p for IQE after catastrophic results and a warning: its shagging all the sheep yet again

Last night, after hours, Cardiff chip maker IQE (IQE) published its results for calendar 2022 and a warning about how dismal trading has been since. With its borrowings ballooning it also announced a placing at just 20p which has completed today raising £30 million. Warned of the dire consequence of the funding failing – and assuming that there will be few takers for a £3 million Rex retail offer – misguided existing backers such as Lombard Odier scurried to more than stand their corner. You cannot say that I have not warned you often enough. Those who ignored my numerous warnings, the sheep, have yet again been shagged by the Welsh.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: The $1 billion AIM fraud, IQE & Atlantic Lithium merit lots of ouzo tonight as the teachers disgrace themselves

I start with the fecking stay at home in the face of sod all snow teachers, who are a disgrace as I explained HERE. What an awful day at the office for Invesco, specialist investors in tech

We are always told by some folks that you should follow the professional fund managers as they know what they are doing and we private investors are just mugs, Today there have been two enormous blow ups in the tech space both of which we have warned about repeatedly. IQE (IQE) and Wandisco (WAND). Both have a big institutional backing as you can see below.

IQE – another shocking warning, more ouzo justified in North Wales, but its cabbage water time in South Wales

For years supporters of IQE (IQE) such as thirsty Paul Scott and our own Malcolm Stacey argued that it was a tech play and this justified fancy doo-dah valuations. I argued that it was simply a manufacturer operating in a cyclical commodity space and a not very good one at that. Today comes another dire lack of profits warning which will be enough to turn the bulls to drink and is a good reason for this sober bear to enjoy a small ouzo tonight.

The stench of Equities First, IQE and Drew Nelson - scumbags the lot of 'em

Drew Nelson is the scumbag who as CEO of IQE (IQE) persuaded thirsty share bloggers and other gullible souls that his low grade commodity business, based in the  rain sodden, post industrial, covid ridden, second world wastelands of South Wales which never generated a cent of cash was somehow a great growth stock. That justified paying Drew a vast salary but that was not enough to sate his greed.

Tom Winnifrith Photo Bearcast: the most stressful 30 minutes I can remember & the 2 French Lesbians on the ferry

Below, you can see two photos of the Greek Hovel, where I have now arrived. Gosh, it is wonderful here. I describe my trip, starting in Wrexham at 12:00 on Monday, and ending at 3 PM GMT today. There was a great deal of anxiety involved, including the most stressful half an hour i can remember at a toll booth near Aix. Then, there were the pretty young lesbians snuggled up on the sofa next to us, as we took the ferry from Bari. Then, it is onto IQE (IQE), MGC Pharmaceuticals (MXC) and Optibiotix (OPTI). Now for a swim; normal service resumes tomorrow.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast – Back at 3.30 AM from the Northern Ireland game

I share a few thoughts with you – truths one cannot say in public – about the game last night. Notwithstanding that, I enjoyed the match, and the Northern Ireland girls held their heads up. Then, I discuss Canadian Overseas Petroleum (COPL), explaining my Christmas sub-10p target – the shares really will halve from here. I look at Shield Therapeutics (STX), MGC Pharmaceuticals (MXC), and Science in Sport (SIS) which, at every level, looks a stinker – even after today’s 22% fall, the shares are grotesquely overvalued. I explain why. Finally, I describe why Malcolm should have learned from IQE (IQE) before continuing to tip Zoo Digital (ZOO) - as he has again done, today.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Just how do market makers work and set prices

I am asked this question by a long suffering reader in relation to Skinbiotherapeutics (SBTX) and do my best to answer. I look at IQE (IQE),the curious share dealing of Mr Drew Nelson and whether I’d be tempted. I still see no sign of the IPO of Zak Mir’s crazy media investment company which he said was imminent two weeks ago. Is it Lift off?  I comment on Bluebird Merchant Ventures (BMV)  and then have a detailed look at Sarah Willingham’s Nightcap (NGHT) in light of today’s expose. It really is a one way bet.Down.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: IQE in no way a Da company, I agree with Gary and that Big Sofa placing

I start with the Earl of Shrewsbury (not Shaftsbury a podcast mis-speak) who should be kicked out of the House of Lords after my latest cash for questions expose HERE. Of course he won’t be. Airstrip One is a rotten and corrupt place these days where folks like him are above the law.  Then I look at Cineworld (CINE), Big Sofa (BST), MyHealthchecked (MHC) and Horizonte Minerals (HZM) before looking at the peripheral issues raised by IQE’s (IQE) disastrous news and also at what is the real valuation, from someone who has called it 100% correctly.

Balchder Cymru IQE: ci gyda chwain yn rhybuddio eto

Just how many profits, or rather lack of profits, warnings has IQE (IQE) issued during  the 21 years since its 2000 IPO at c400p. The shares are today 40p after the Pride of the Welsh tech sector added another warning to its, already extensive, collection. Then I look in detail at IQE (IQE) plus I comment on Verditek (VDTK) and Bidstack (BIDS) and when each will next run out of cash, at MyHealthChecked (MHC) which will not and finally at the disgrace that is Parsley Box (MEAL) at lessons folks should, but will not, learn and at why the shares will still crash even from here, having almost halved since the March 31 IPO.

Trading a bad stock like IQE

There are two ways of viewing IQE plc (IQE). One, mine, is correct. The other, as pushed by the share promoters, the numerous corporate brokers and financiers who see its constant demands for fresh debt and equity as something of a gravy train, is not. Let’s start with those who are wrong.

IQE and what it does not say in its trading statement

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Why IQE's valuation is a rum 'n' coke, 2 acid tests for the FCA and talking to the great man of mining analysis

I end with a few notes on Woodlarks. There are now 7 walkers confirmed – please do make a donation HERE. Then I discuss 2 acid tests today for the FCASupply@ME Capital (SYME) and Lyin’ Chris Cleverly’s planned RTO into Stranger Holdings (STHP). Then I look at St James House (SJH) and wonder if the taxman needs to have a butcher’s at 4 of its disposals involving John Botros. Then it is onto IQE (IQE) and why Malcolm Stacey and thirsty Paul Scott are wrong. Finally a look at Jubilee Metals (JLP). Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: this is the final straw Boris, you can all kick me in the nuts if I ever vote Tory again

It is we in the private sector that have suffered the massive economic pain of the Government’s blundering on Covid. It is the private sector that will eventually create the jobs and wealth to pay for it. So what is Boris doing? Landing us with a bigger bill to pay so he can reward Doctors ( the top 2% of earners), taking the fucking knee Policeman and the bedwetting stay at home teachers. Fuck you Boris, this is the final straw, you and I are done. Has Ed Croft's Stockopedia just served up the very worst BUY call in stockmarket history? Timing is everything

No I am not referring to Ed’s stock picking system concluding that the Quindell (QPP) fraud was one of the 10 cheapest shares on AIM. Nor am I referring to it rating the fraud Globo (GBO) as a 92/100 BUY.  Or to thirsty Paul Scott using the Stockopedia system to serve up classic buys like IQE (IQE) and TrakM8 (TRAK)  This gem from the Stockopedia stock picking system is an even worse call and in fact possibly the worst stock call in history.

I am indeed with my father in Shipston this morning and even he has noticed that he is not quite as rich as he was two weeks ago. Shiuld we pamic about our holdings? On balance I am not suggesting that you do but certain stocks do look very vulnerable. Surely profits warnings from Telit (TCM), IQE (IQE) and Carnival (CCL) are in the pipeline. Well not yet. But bears have real reasons for cheer. Having stated in June that it could operate within its existing £27 million overdraft into Q1 2020, we see today that the company has secured an additional £30 million asset financing (expensive debt). Ok, no bailout placing pro tem but a sign that cash continues to be burned.

Today we discover that Canaccord has been axed as Nomad and replaced by Peel Hunt while Citigroup joins the party as co broker. This can only mean one thing, that bailout placing is imminent. So with the shares at 52.4p on Friday (and overvalued at that) at what price do you think the placing will be at? Vote below with a deadline of midnight tonight.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: 7 emails from Julie Meyer's lawyer, IQE placing a dead cert & Doc Holliday either very right or 100% wrong

Today’s bearcast is a little late thanks to the amazing work of Brokerman Dan at the Welsh Hovel. Photos later. I start with the bluncders of Julie Meyer’s latest lawyer. Then I look at Chesterfield Resources (CHF) and other mining tiddlers and explian why Doc Holliday (a bull) is either very right or very wrong and why I think, but do not know, that it is the latter. Then more questions for IQE (IQE) including when is the placing?

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Jeremy Hunt's kind words for a fraudster who stole from you and me

I start with a few words on comments from Jeremy Hunt showing why the entire political class deserves an encounter with an asteroid, his contempt for the victims of crime (you and I the taxpayer) and his support for a fraudster. I look at IQE (IQE), Nanoco (NANO), Agronomics (ANIC), Andalas (ADL), Thin Film (another Neil Woodford disaster) and RM2 (RM2). And now I must rush, more tomorrow.

Ouzo O’clock in North Wales, misery in the valleys as IQE warns (as predicted)

The Sheriff of AIM is surely entitled to a celebratory breakfast ouzo at his hovel in North Wales? On Wednesday I flagged up a profits warning from the Krauts at Siltronic and suggested that IQE (IQE) was likely to follow. Less than 48 hours later the Cardiff dog duly barks. As a long term bear I have repeatedly warned silly sell side analysts, Thirsty Paul Scott and others that this company is a crock…once again I stand vindicated. And so to detail….it is grim.

WARNING: Our apologies, this Bearcast has distorted sound from after ten minutes, when Tom recorded it. It is still audible. We’ll try to fix it for tomorrow’s Bearcast. I start with a short bit on the wild use of language and yes the trans “genocide” is my starting point. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Malcolm you misunderstand IQE

Sorry, I know you thought Joshua was better than i was yesterday but it is just me today. Good news arrives in the post here at the Welsh Hovel. I shall be able to vote for Mr Farage in the European Elections and, better still, the Mrs won’t be able to vote for the commies. In the podcast I discuss IQE (IQE) where Malcolm Stacey has it all wrong, Purplebricks (PURP),  Eqtec (EQT), Argo Blockchain (ARB), Bushveld Minerals (BMN) and Dev Clever (DEV). And to the 75% of bearcast listeners yet to do the decent thing: we have now raised almost £19,000 for Woodlarks ( and have another £5,500 pledged) so please help us get towards our £40,000 target with a donation today HERE

Then I turn to allegations that Debenhams (DEB) and Domino's Pizza (DOM) issued RNS statements that were somewhere between misleading and untrue. IQE Clarifies profits warning: as predicted the “crowded bear trade” supports share price (for now)

I noted last night in my bonus bearcast that the real short position in IQE was, whatever the FCA says, probably well North of 20% and that as bears used the profits warning as a reason to close out what is clearly a “crowded trade” this would provide some share price support. And so it has come to pass.  The shares are up 4p at 71p having fallen 29p in late trade Monday. IQE has also clarified its profits warning and that has offered some comfort. It won’t last. Bombshell: IQE Photonics - Fading fast?

Last week I wrote about how IQE’s (IQE) latest annual filing revealed that were it not for one major customer, IQE’s business would have gone pretty much nowhere. Therefore all the excitement and value increase appears heavily reliant on that one major new customer. Today we highlight how at its recent AGM, on 4 June, IQE provided guidance of a 40:60 revenue split for H1:H2 2018, indicating either a slowdown or (as some may hope) merely a deferring of growth.

Today the shares are nearly 6x higher at 100p per share, valuing the business at £750 million; an astonishing £630 million increase in value. And yet IQE’s most recent filing (year to 31 Dec 2017), reveals a company where, were it not for one new major customer, the remaining business would have demonstrated declining revenue and profit.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: The missing trading statement from Purplebricks and does IQE need to warn?

I start on a rather sad personal note. Then it is onto Purplebricks (PURP) and the missing FY trading statement. Does that mean that the great day of a big de-rate looms? I look at UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) in light of today's scoop, at Strat Aero (AERO) where if you look at the real maths the current ramp has created a joke valuation, at the People's Operator (TPOP) which should be sent to Dignitas and finally at IQE (IQE) where I ask if a profits warning is imminent? 5% of Bearcast listeners have donated to the Woodlarks charity walk but 95% have not! . We are now at 26% of our £20,000 target. As I prepare for a step up in my training walks tomorrow - pushing Joshua for 7.5 miles - to those who have  donated I say thank you. Only kidding! Death Wish, which is not, as you might think, hapless Mayor Khan's new tourist promo video for London, is not out until Friday. So I gave the Mrs a far more suitable present for her birthday but what to give my Labour party loyalist sister Comrade N?. Back to the Mrs: I sense that I shall be watching the new Bruce Willis movie alone. I digress. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Malcolm with respect you are talking complete bollocks on IQE

Two days, two bull articles on IQE (IQE). It has worked and I have been goaded here is is why Malcolm Stacey is talking bollocks. I also reference the fraud Eden Research (EDEN) in this discussion on profit being a matter of opinion and that is why cash matters. I discuss why being a liar is bad news as a CEO ref Mkango Resources (MKA) then tease Andrew Monk and Richard Jennings about Gulfsands Petroleum (GPX) - their oil analysis as bad as their Syria analysis on this occasion. Then it is onto Flybe (FLYB) and a detailed discussion of the looming cash crisis and joke valuation at Sound Energy (SOU). I suggest SalvaRx (SALV) run by my good friend Jim Mellon faces a bit of a cash issue. Then I explain why I have cut my UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) target price to just 0.25p making it, at 1.125p, still a slam dunk sell.  If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: I hope Persimmon's Mr Fairburn tells the fat cat fund managers where to stick it & keeps his £110m

The scandal over fat cat bonuses at Persimmon (PSN) is something that we were the first to expose back in September of last year way before the national press got onto the case. The real villains are the Government but also the overpaid and negligent City fund managers who agreed to this scheme. They are now trying to shift the blame onto the bosses, notably CEO Jeff Fairburn, but this is about blame shifting not what is in the best interests of shareholders. I then look at wider market wobbles mentioning, en passant, IQE (IQE), SnapChat and other examples of lunacy.

IQE - How this plays out Monday Morning & a heartfelt apology from me

I see that smarmy lefty millionaire comedian Bob Mortimer is boasting in today's Sunday Telegraph about how he bought IQE (IQE) as a penny stock and it is now 163p. Methinks not Bob. I warmed folks to sell at 138.5p in a detailed dossier published in October HERE. Matt Earl's 36 page note of Friday has really set the cat among the pigeons. The scariest graphic you will see this year is on Zero Hedge below and shows just how each country in Europe is ageing. I discuss what it says about the scorched earth policies the EU has imposed on the Southern Europeans, about Germany and about the UK and Eire. This is the old world. It is dying. We in the UK need to focus elsewhere as we approach Brexit. Then it is onto IQE (IQE) and its £95 million placing: buy, sell or hold.

IQE - The next ARM?... Or just a manufacturer of a commodity product with a lengthy track record of burning through equity?

IQE (IQE) is being hailed as “the next ARM Holdings” - you can see the bull case from my pal Paul Scott HERE. But if this is correct it would mark a major turnaround for a company that has been around for nearly two decades without generating any shareholder equity.

Interesting bearcast on IQE, but I'm afraid you're completely wrong on this says Paul Scott

I am, on balance, bearish on IQE (IQE) - not as a slam dunk it'sgoing to zero - I just think the shares are seriously overvalued as I explained in a weekend bearcast HERE. But Britain's top share blogger Paul Scott disagrees. The great man writes:

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - IQE the valuation must be insane & interest rate rise ahoy!

It is my son's first birthday today - how time flies! I start with a look at inflation. It is back! And the greed of the lazy public sector workers (demonstrated clearly HERE) will fuel it which means interest rate rises ahoy. I suggest this has clear implications you should not ignore. Then I take a detailed look at IQE (IQE),its last results, investor perceptions and explain why I believe that the shares at 131p are a very poor risk reward play for the bulls like Comrade Stacey.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Naked women on Twitter, China and the UK property crash and how you can buy the next ASOS

The bit about naked women explains itself but is of course a cue to link to the photo articles on Quindell's & Cloudtag's daftest shareholders, semi naked sisters Kate & Hayley. China and the UK property crash elaborates on the points I made in the property crash bearcast HERE. And then we turn to the question of can you find a thousand bagger, the new ASOS (ASC) . I ask this because of Malcolm's words on IQE (IQE) HERE and because I am just about to make a large new investment - could it be the next ASOS? It won't be but I explain why that does not mean I am not excited.

How to Make Money Out of Shares You Know Little About. Ref: IQE

I added a few comments to this piece by my Wales living pal Malcolm Stacey: Hello Share Smackers. As I write this modest little column, my IQE (IQE) shares have leapt on the day by 12%. This is jolly good because I've been ambivalent about this investment.

Tom Winnifrith BearCast Special - The Equities First scandal - jail time & disgrace

In this BearCast Special I explain exactly how Equities First Holdings LLC operates. When it sells the shares AIM directors transfer to it and why that means that ALL of the AIM directors involved have broken the law. That is Quindell (QPP), IGAS (IGAS), Cloudbuy (CBUY), IQE (IQE) and Angle (AGL). There then follows the misleading statements. But then I turn to the negligence of Nomads, Cenkos, Canaccord and Hanson Westhouse and why that should be career ending for some. And the to why Equities First and its employees should be struck off by the FCA.  This scandal is enormous and for many involved professional disgrace is the least of their worries.

IQE, IGas caught up in the Equity First/Quenron scandal – best to stand aside for now

By next week it is more than likely that Quindell (QPP) shares will be suspended as the Equities First Scandal reaches boiling point as I explain again in today’s BearCast. That begs questions about IQE and IGas.

The Equities First Scandal - Its going to get worse, heads will roll - Tom Winnifrith BearCast Special

The AIM Casino scandal involving Equities First Holdings LLC is going to get an awful lot worse. Heads will roll with Optimal Payments (OPAY) and IGAS (IGAS) firmly in the firing line but directors at Cloudbuy (CBUY), IQE (IQE), Angle (AGL) and ,of course, Quenron (QPP) also exposed. For the latter, at least, this is probably not their greatest concern. The sad truth is that none of the six have said enough and ALL need to clarify the clarification statements. Until they do all six firms are uninvestable. This and specific crmes are examined in this podcast special.

IQE - Cheap as chips

In November I commented that shares in AIM-listed IQE plc (LSE: IQE) – a company headquartered in a land where no-one has ever, ever molested a sheep which provides products and services to the global semiconductor industry – remained a buy at a then 28.75p share price. By the middle of this month the shares were trading at 36.5p but they fell back significantly at the end of last week and currently trade at 28.25p. The following reviews the reasons why the shares were sold off and my stance here.

A apology to the entire Welsh nation

There was no free share tip today oneonefreesharetip.com today as instead I felt the need to apolgise to an entire nation. In case you are not registered ( why not?) the piece runs.

I make a public apology to the entire people of Wales. It is indeed a heart-felt apology to you all ( my daughter Olivia included and even to her mother “big nose”). For you see it seems that I have been insensitive to the great people of the nation that brought you Max Boyce, badger fancying MP Ron Davies, weekend cottage burning and the entire Kinnock family and I want to apologise for that.

Clem Chambers and I have received an email from a sensitive and humourless Welshie called Gareth Davies He states:

In your “One Free Share Tip” report of 17th February tipped Welsh technology hardware company I.Q.E., you referred to them as “sheep shaggers”. We Welsh have a good sense of humour and accept light –hearted “digs”, but the above phrase is not in that category and in fact is downright insulting and completely out of order. I trust that you will apologise for your remark and that such insults will not be repeated. Should I not receive a satisfactory reply, I may well take the matter further.

To Clem: I tried to get your e-mail address , but after several long, unanswered calls to 0207 0700 961, I have had to send your copy of the above e-mail by post (recorded delivery). Remarks such as the one above are often made in the media , mainly by S.E.England/London “establishment” figures. Having worked/travelled throughout Britain , I know that such hereditary, systemic, arrogant, publically- stated insolence is viewed by others outside the S.E. region with annoyance and contempt. Attitudes are hardening and in future, such insolence will not be tolerated.

Ooooh er missus. I am threatened by Gareth, who clearly has time on his hands, that he may take the matter further and Clem now knows that this “insolence will not be tolerated.”

Clem and I are sensitive souls. I hate to think of Gareth staring up the valley looking at deserted coal mines and suffering because an Ireland supporting writer made such a comment about his fellow Celts. Poor Gareth. I am almost in tears as I write this apology for I want his soul to become less tormented. For you Gareth but also to all your wonderful countrymen and countrywomen, including family man Ryan Giggs and Ruth Madoc from Hi-de-Hi, I would like to state publicly:

I apologise for the comment. I fully accept that no-one in Wales has ever considered shagging a sheep and that nothing of the sort ever happens in the Principality. I think I got Wales confused with the Scottish borders and apologise for my basic error of geography which I shall not repeat.

Ends.

I hope that Gareth will accept this apology in full and will promise not to burn down the cottage that my Aunt Lucy owns in his great land.

I trust that this puts an end to the matter as I would rather spend an eternity listening to Aled Jones records in a room full of grumbling Welshies bleating on about how the wicked Thatcher closed down all the mines, than continue this pointless correspondence any further.

Guest Post: Steve Moore on Wales based IQE

Steve Moore and I worked together at t1ps.com ever since he left University. He is a very talented young analyst and a man of utter principle which is why he quit t1ps. He is now working with my on my Nifty Fifty websital but also writing off his own bat and I am keen to support that. Apart from anything else he talks a lot of sense. As such I bring you a piece he has published on Wales based IQE – natch I agree with him Steve writes…

Shares in AIM-listed IQE plc (IQE), a manufacturer and supplier of bespoke semiconductor wafers to the major chip manufacturing companies, which then use them to make the chips which form the key components of high technology systems, were recommended on the Nifty Fifty website in December at a 28.5p offer price and I also wrote them up last month on the One Free ShareTip offering with the shares then at 34.25p. Now at 35.75p – 36p, meaning a market cap of more than £230 million, the following reviews the investment case here…

IQE: Placing, Trading Statement and Aquisition all look very good

On January 10th IQE, the Wales based supplier of advanced semiconductor wafer products and services IQE announced a $75 million ($60 million on completion and $15 million payable on the third anniversary of completion) acquisition, a £16.5 million placing of new shares with institutional investors at 29p each and a 2012 trading statement. Having tipped the stock at a 28.75p share price on this very website on November 19th -I am feeling rather smug as the spread is now 36.25-36.75p. Indeed I also tipped this stock at 24.5p in my days round at t1ps so I am feeling doubly smug. But there is more to come.

IQE – A world leader from Wales (there has to be one)

Like a capitalist-supporting article in the Guardian or a Gordon Brown appearance in Parliament, AIM-listed IQE plc (LSE:IQE) is a rarest of things – in its case a Welsh world leader in an economic space. The company is a leading global supplier of advanced ‘wafer’ products and services to the semiconductor industry – which then utilises them in the chips which comprise the key components of high-technology systems. Having taken a healthy profit on the shares in August 2010, I re-recommended them at 24.75p in February of this year on t1ps, the website I departed in September having edited it for the 12 years since its launch in 2000. Following a contract announcement today the share price is 27p and the following reviews this announcement and the investment case from here…

IQE – a safe tech wonder stock?

I recommended shares in AIM-listed IQE plc (IQE) at 24.75p in February of this year on t1ps.com – the site I founded in 2000 and left in September of this year. Shares in this leading global supplier of advanced wafer products and services to the semiconductor industry (which uses them to make the chips which form the key components of high-technology systems) now trade at 28.75p – so we are already a bit ahead here but could this be a red hot penny share? In the following I take a look at the outlook for the company from here…
