Snubbed at yet another awards ceremony: this time it’s the Chronic Investor

I am gutted. I tell you absolutely gutted. Yet another awards ceremony is almost upon us, a chance for crony capitalists to go to an expensive dinner (ultimately paid for by mug punters like you and me, of course) and say what a jolly good job they are all doing. I was really hoping that I would be nominated at the Investors Chronicle awards on 27 November and now the short list is up. I thought I had a good chance in the category “Diversity and Inclusion Champion of the Year”

Because what you really care about when picking a stockbroker is their skin colour and who they are shagging?

My broker is white and straight. But that is not why I picked him it is because he is competent and offers a cracking service. But in these days of diversity and inclusion, PIMFA the trade body for brokers and wealth managers, says that is just not good enough. Its awards time.

When you heard that Boris Johnson has been told by Princess Nut Nuts to give all NHS staff an inflation-busting pay rise, I bet you thought of poor nurses earning close to the average national wage of £26,000 and went outside at 8 PM to clap like a seal.
