Giving Gazan students scholarships to UK Universities is at every level mad

The Green MP Carla Denyer was yesterday bleating about delays in getting Gazan students into Britain for free scholarships to British Universities saying their lives were in danger. Thanks to Donald Trump their lives in Gaza are not threatened  in any way by the Jews Denyer’s party so likes to demonise, but what madness is it that this scheme, created by Labour but applauded by the Greens and Lib Dems, is going ahead at all?

The kids coming over may be bright and intelligent and perhaps charming ambassadors for a truly multicultural world. But maybe they are not. Kids in schools in Gaza have been taught from the age of four, ever since Hamas was elected to power in 2006, to hate Jews and indeed that it their duty to kill Jews.

Can Ms. Denyer assure us that not one of these imported students hates Jews? Will she bet the ranch that not one will actually engage in anti semitic harassment or, heaven forbid, worse? What checks have been done on this matter?

Moreover, can we be assured that once the “scholarships” are over that all these students will indeed return to help rebuild Gaza as Ms. Denyer insists they will? How much would she like to bet me that at least some will find a pretext, to stay in the UK indeed perhaps bringing in family members. How would that help Gaza and how would it improve the UK?

And finally, it may have escaped the attention of the Labour Party, the breast enlargement by hypnotherapy party and the Lib Dems but the UK Government faces a fiscal crisis. As a nation we simply cannot afford to show such generosity handing out scholarships to these Gazans in this way.

At some point the UK just has to stop spending like drunken sailors, lest we go down the slippery slope France is heading down which ends with an IMF bailout..

At every level this scheme is madness. It will add to the deficit, undoubtedly increase net immigration and will make Jews in this country not only feel less safe but, I fear, actually be less safe.

This is insanity.
