Want to earn £60,000 in just one weekend from the grateful taxpayer - become a Welsh GP!

Naturally, the media love this stakhanovite hero of the NHS. Dr Eilir Hughes works in rural Wales as a GP, a profession where the average pay is already £100,700. Natch,Dr Hughes reckons that the NHS is massively underfunded by the Evil Tories and needs far more cash, not least for inflation busting pay rises all round. But before you consider crowdfunding for the poor lamb…

So the Mrs tries to see our GP – give those poor Shipmans another pay rise!

The rule here in North Wales is that you need to call our local surgery over in England at 8 AM to get an appointment. The Mrs has had a chesty cough for three weeks so – according to in the interweb – needs some antibiotics and thus a scrip. So she started calling at 8 AM. The line was engaged.

You wish to cure the GP shortage? It is simple: Slash the pay and pensions of the Shipmans

There was a mad old coot sitting in the middle of the road yesterday explaining how she was doing it to stop the world running out of oxygen. I kid you not. It turned out that this woman aged 61 was a retired GP. She had quit a while back to concentrate on saving the planet and the point is that after years troughing it and with a bumper, taxpayer funded pension, she could afford to quit at an age when nearly all of us still face years at the coalface.

The average GP now earns more than £100,000 + massive pension perks and the greedy and idle bastards still want more

Thank heavens we gave salaried GPs – those not really coining it in from running their own practices – a pay rise of 3% this year. Okay, these days only 56% of appointments are face to face. The rest are over the phone or online and the number of missed diagnoses for cancer and other life threatening ailments is, as a result, soaring.  The average GP works well under the maximum 48 hours per week and yet, after four years of inflation busting pay rises the data is shocking but the greedy bastards want more.

Photo Article: Breaking out of Wales for a substantial meal in a boozer and it is heartbreaking

Thanks to the certifiably insane First Minister here in Wales, Mr Mark Drakeford, boozers shut at 6 PM and can’t serve booze anyway. I can’t remember whether it is illegal to cross the border with England yet or whether the North Wales Police start arresting folks for this heinous crime on the 24th, 25th or 28th. Anyhow, we set off from the Welsh Hovel last night, four of us in the car, dashing the few hundred yards to the bridge to free England and what we found was heartbreaking.

Considering my own mortality as the man fondled my testicles

This is not the sort of matter that my father would consider that a gentleman should discus in public. But, as my critics often point out, I am no gentleman and, in 2017, we should perhaps talk openly about men's health. I have for some weeks had intermittent pains in my private parts and my left testicle now appears to be larger than my right one.

Diary of a Diabetic - day whatever: My GP loves me but I am ( by 1 lb) obese

Sadly my old GP has moved to a new practice in Devon. I regreat this as he was tolerant of my politics (though obviously a screaming Guardian reading trot himself), we chatted at length about olive trees and he always had to chide me on my lack of progress in tackling my type 2 diabetes. How I wish Dr Curry had been there today as I met up with his replacement and met up in a blaze of glory

How much is your greedy, overpaid GP swindling you out of?

No you can't say that Mr Winnifrith, please remember that all the doctors are saints. Okay GP's earn £100,000 on average and are in the top 1% of wage earners and even the junior greedy bastards, when not on strike, are in the top 21% as they do their apprenticeship but doctors are not in it for the cash. They do it because they are all fecking saints.

As such, please do not mention that a survey published today shows that a good number of NHS surgeries are still getting their mug customers ( sorry patients) to call them on premium rate phone lines costing up to 41p a minute.

Hmmm Mrs Jones,

Junior Doctors Strike, the hard data which shows how greedy the bastards are

Once again the middle class kids serving a very well paid apprenticeship before qualifying to join one of the best paid closed shops in Britain, with guaranteed job security, are on strike again. Don't bash the doctors they, are all saints who just care about patients and the NHS say the lefties - if you criticise them who are a fascist who is on ther side of cancer, they add. Of course the hard data says otherwise.

The Junior Doctors serve an apprenticeship for an average of 8 or 9 years starting aged 22-24. So the average junior doctor is in his or her late twenties on an average salary of £35,000. Put another way they are better paid that 79% of the population - source HERE. Compared to their age group peers they are doing even better. And then once you qualify the real gravy train kicks in.

On a 40 hour week
